About to start mainlining. Possible to clone the cutting?

Plant is at 6 nodes, DWC. Time to begin pruning/topping to start the nugbuckets manifolding technique.

I was wondering if it's possible to root the cutting, and have two plants? I have Clonex rooting gel and no experience cloning (yet).

Not comfortable posting photos, plant is full, green and healthy, 3 weeks old.

Yes, just trim it up a little...you don't want a bunch of transpiration going on since it ain't got any roots yet.

Turns out I shouldn't count the single serrated leaves! We are at 5 nodes, 6th showing; at 19 days old. I will be waiting until the 6th node is complete with 7th showing before I top. Keeping a grow journal on this journey on paper, maybe I'll copy it here for everyone to enjoy some day.

Good to know I can clone the cutting, will do my best attempt when the time comes!

Anywhere from 5-7 nodes (or more) is fine. The reason for waiting is to allow the roots sufficient time to be able handle the stress. So if your plants and roots are healthy, go for it.
Mainlining is my preferred method of growing.

Roots have formed a fist sized "heart", plant looks great just seems more wide set than other plants I've seen on here at that age. As soon as my new fiskars come in, it's chop chop! Hoping for 8 main colas, since this is my first time mainlining. I'm also wanting to put a ring in the middle before the switch to flower, but not sure how to secure it since I'm doing DWC :)

You shouldn't have much of a slowdown going that way. I grow in soil so the growth is much slower than yours.

Yeah I don't know about those things and trying to secure anything to the top of that. Do you have anything above the plant right now? Like is it in a tent?

From my experience the “tops”/meristem cuttings grow the best, almost as though from seed.
I cloned some tiny ones and they took long to root, but once they did, and I got them happy, they grew far more vigorously than my other clones.
Just my experience…
