Im new this is my second grow. I might be wrong but i think my main cola split in two without me doing anything. Its a little cheese auto and i didnt do anything but plant no topping.
I just had a chocolope pull that trick....someone thought I topped it.........personally, I don't like topping plants.

Im doing autos and alot of people have made it quite clear its risky topping them so why risk it.. I Lst with my last grow and it did improve yield and was worth it.

I've topped all my autos multiple times. They all end up vegging for three weeks and flowering for about ten, pulling around 6-8oz each.

It's not going to pull any more weight, just evens out the canopy. It depends on the plants health in general. There's way too much blind bias going around here about autos.

Auto, topped at node 2 after a week, and then the lower two branches were topped three days later. Ended up flowering week three and pulling 6oz.

Auto, topped three times during first two weeks, at week six from seed. Ended up pulling 7 Oz.

Another auto, topped three times over the first two/three weeks, photo at day 28, still going now.

Another auto going on day 36, topped three times during week two.. pulled just under 7oz.

Current auto, topped three times at day 21.

If I'm apparently one of the worst growers on here according to most people here, and I've topped every auto with zero problems, it can't be that bad for them if I've managed to pull it off lol.

I mainly do it as I'm in a 6 foot tent, and need to cap height. They end up way to tall otherwise. If you haven't got height issues, it's not necessarily needed, but I just like to mess with things.
