could try the burn test to see if it's synthetic or natural fibers. if you try to light it on fire (while dry) and it doesn't really stay lit, then it's likely organic fibers....if you light it and it burns like a mother then it's synthetic. no don't put that in the soil. i have no clue what they make tea bags out of these days, that's just the test i'd do if i didn't know

thanks everyone for your feedback I am not going to use use tea bags as i have flora three part grow nutrients and cal mag so it should do the trick the reason i asked is cause i see people give compost tea but i dont have that where i am that's why i asked about tea bags.

Lol. Compost tea is not related to tea in anyway.
You make your own. You can use well composted organic material or earthworm castings (recommended). Place a couple handfuls in a 'sock' or porous cloth (cheese cloth) tie the top and float it in some water that doesn't contain chlorine or chloramine. Add a tbsp or 2 of unsulfured organic molasses and toss a few airstones on a pump in there let it 'brew' for 24-48 hrs. That is a compost tea.
This is having tea with the queen where you would use a conventional tea bag
