Soil mix?

I don't watch the You Tubers. It's not my thing.
Bruce Bugbee is definitely worth watching about lighting for cannabis. He’s an actual PhD teaching at Utah State where they have a licensed HEMP research program. Bugbee says in the first video whatever goes for hemp goes for cannabis. Helped me understand LED a hell of a lot faster than trying here. Otherwise these YouTube cannabis experts are nothing special in my opinion.

I love bruise bugbee man he said they use a %50 peat with %50 verm and some type of blue water soluble fertilizer I just don't see how but he said they've used everything and the plants like that mix best... surprised me when he shared the soil recipe and it was that

You think it'll be too hot if I add some kelp alfalfa or crab meal?
maybe you can add some add it'll be ok. I have never grown with gaia green amendments, I don't know how strong they are. I said to add less than mr canucks because he adds more than recommended by gaia green , he says so himself on his videos, and his plants are always somewhat fried.

And Bugbee is everything but bro science crap. He’s pretty cool as far as profs go. I’d be attending class.
Im think at least for the cell pods i won't add anything but when I transplant the final resting pot I'm thinking I'll add some extra food for them...

So I was trying to start a soil that I can recycle and so far I started with

Coco coir
Worm castings
Perlite (might change to rice hull)
Vermiculite
Gaia green 4-4-4
Should I add anything else....this will be my mix for the 2 gallon trade pots for veg then for the final transplant 5 gallon pots I planned on same mix but add Gaia green 2-8-4 with some synergy

Yes this is Mr Canucks style of growing but I wanna enhance it any ideas y'all can give ?
Throw your idea out the window. Dry amendments and coco is a waste of time. If you want a soil mix use soil and not coco.

Use the mix you were planning to do, just use peat instead of coco.
You don't think peat is too dense or heavy? I use it in my mixes but never more than 15-20% total. It is also pretty hot from some regions. Only curious as a dirt digger. LOL.

I am goin to do a run with coco because it's already bought BUT since I have some plants alrrady regular peat based soil (some promix with Castings and some with fox farms) and I'm goin do the coco anyway and compare....but couldn't I make a higher quality organic soil and let it sit or "cook" and as soon as the veg room opens back up use that?

It's in my journal. Around page 12. But I eyeball it at 50% potting mix, 10% coco coire, 10% seed starter mix, 15% peat "Michigan" and 15% compost. I amend with 1 Tbsp of each of the ones I posted. Same at top dress. Unless in ground. Then I double.

I thought maybe I could also mix some of this peat in with regular potting soil idk man I'm trying to find me... this be my 4th run once I run the coco but I still haven't found a prefered method I just know I like the idea of organics and building my own soil

What I'm doing. Been in for a bit since 80's. LOL. I like soil. No issues indoors. And only pests to deal with outside. Water and watch.002.jpg003.jpg003.jpg

Coco drains better than peat but if you add enough Verm/perlite to the peat it’ll drain as good.
I’ve used a coco based bagged soil for 2 years and the plants grew great but the flavor was never that stellar, most strains had a hay flavor but it might have been the brand of soil and not the coco, however I’ve switched to an amended pro mix and the flavor has been better than when I was using the bagged coco soil.
Also both peat and coco are acidic so you might want to add some dolomite or calcium carbonate.

That's my thing I'm chasing the terps this go around guys that's one of the reason I'm trying to switch things up what ever I'm doin is not providing the flavor I'm looking for I've had good weed before and the weed I'm growing I wouldnt be mad if I bought it but I probably wouldn't be looking for somewhere to get it from
