Your Opinion: what strain tastes the most like Weed?

I wasn't a Dead fan in the 90s, but I disliked them a lot more when I discovered that I could walk around the parking lot for 5 minutes and find weed that looked like it had been grown using alien technology. Jam Bands spread top shelf bud and psychedelics back and forth across the country for decade after decade. I lived in a fairly rural part of the country and a Phish show or an All Good music festival was a utopia as far as good drugs were concerned. Improvisational music is only really enjoyable live. And even then sometimes not so much.

You went to Phish for drugs I went to raves. Same drugs different atmosphere.

Always thought Jack Herer strains/crosses taste like the most amazing weed. Oh sure afghan kush derivatives have old school flavor but none stand out as memorable to me as Jack. Back in the days when kush was king every so often our guy would have “Christmas tree bud” that I now realize was Jack Herer or a cross there of. With the popularity of so many fruity strains out there it’s hard to find that piney flavor I remember so well. May hafta go order a 10pk.....

Ive been looking for those elusive Christmas tree piney genetics.. any-others that have that pine characteristics besides jack…

I've never been to a concert during the day aside from a free Sonic Youth show once. If you're at a music fest you stay stoned through the day and trip at night.

I will say hippies had better bud, but raves were trippier in general and had hotter chicks per capita.

Anyways back to weed that tastes like weed.. ...lol

Last year, my first autoflower grow (only my third plant) was a Seedsman freebie labeled "SEEDSMAN KUSH AUTO FEM", which was Sensi Seeds Hindu Kush crossed with Lowryder#2.

Grew it 12/12 from seed next to photos, and still got almost 2oz. Hardly exaggerating when i say, this is THE BEST overall high I've ever had from smoking flower. It was perfect. Weight distribution like a sports car, 60 head/40 body, lol. Smoking a bowl was satiating, like having a snack. The smell and taste were pure nostalgia, reminded me of that first bag of kindbud i ever had. Piney, a bit citrusy, an almost breakfast sausage-like funk to it. I have every intention of snagging more of these.

I can taste and smell OG Kush when I think about it. I can't really say that about any other strain.

The hippies in Humboldt definitely grow some dank. I worked at Round Table in Truckee and a group came and asked if we wanted to trade pizza and beer for weed and blown glass pipes. I said hell ya. I grabbed the Purple Kush and went to make their pizzas. I let the others have the pipes.

We traded pizza for all kinda of shit. But all my friends knew that if they brought us some weed, we'd hook em up with free beer and pizza. I had a friend that showed up almost every night, lol.

I feel sorry for you. Now I’ve lived with diesel fuel my entire life. My cabin is heated with it. My truck runs on it. Grew up in agriculture with diesel machinery. I’ve never smelled diesel in cannabis.

But I love growing fruity sativas. My Durban smells so fine and you can definitely taste it.

Oh I smell it and they smell amazing but as far as taste?? I taste it when it’s in an unlit pipe or joint but the whole “ Tastes like ******” has me feeling left out. With a vape I detect a pleasant scent of the weed on my palate but it’s nowhere ever as nice as it smelled. Maybe I’m expecting too much and thinking it should taste like pipe tobacco which actually has a very nice flavor. I mean do you really taste it?

Alot of genetics from certain hazes to more indica type things like friesland indica has a bit of pine in it romulan is pretty piney as well x18 does too certain phenos are pine dom ime

With the sensi Hindu sounds like a classic combo, tho I’ve never had the sensi Hindu, it looks similiar to og with those tight nugs.
I woulda loved to try joint doctors original loweryder#1 but it’s discontinued, they used to have a dwarf auto called Betty boo (also discontinued) I grew it and got like 2 grams of the most pineyest Dankist old school funk , earthypine with a real deep flavor and almost trippy indica high.
It was a mazar cross.
Since then I’ve been interested in the mazar lineage too, growers choice or Dutch passion have versions although I think they might both be crossed with a skunk.

Sounds as if you have a similar issue to mine. I have a hard time tasting the taste of weed with most strains.

You are not left out. If anything you are in my boat and just dont know it.
