My take on Afghanistan is how can we (U.S.) expect an entrenched culture and mysterious land to adopt democracy when we are still wrestling with ours after almost 250 years. Heartbroken for the vets who gave their lives or came home physically or mentally or both scarred and the poor families impacted by losses of loved one's or the return of loved ones suffering from the experience. Biden getting out is the right decision and took guts to make the call.ccguns

He had to do it in the first 6 months, knowing the hypocritical backlash from the right will dissipate over the next news cycles before the run-up to 2022 midterms. Now he has time to turn the narrative around, barring mass executions of women and girls, or some such other horror from the Taliban.

Not all people arrive at the physical point of maturity or the mental point of maturity at the same time. Sounds like we agree on that. Is there a magical age limit that NO person has ever crossed and been capable of consenting when the majority of people the same age as them have not ?

As an example, a person who is not fully completed puberty and been educated about sex and the potential consequences should not be put in the position to contemplate whether or not they should consent to sexual acts, due to their obvious lack of physical maturity and sexual knowledge. You were talking about 12-year olds before, now you are shifting to 17?

I think I do know what wherewithal means. I think it is not a fixed thing for every person. If it is, tell me which age it arrives for everyone and why. Do you have the wherewithal to address that question?

When clearly they stated that they were aware that some Americans who were not willing to leave by the pull out date for many reasons.
