West Coast OG Auto. Day 2. FFHF. 70%RH. 77 Degrees. 600W LED 28 in away.

So I think she is looking pretty healthy. My question is about watering. So I get to let the soil go dry about an inch deep. But there seems to be conflicting info all over about how much to water. Do I water until runoff, or just give an ounce or two when the soil is ready?

Thanks in advance!!!

Too much is worse than too little especially since they give you signs that they are thirsty. I intentionally let mine wilt occasionally. But just a little.

I water after the soil is dry and container is much less weight. Very critical at this stage. So far you seem to be fine. But it is day 2 lol. Just take it east. Weekly updates. Promise you’ll be fine

Way too much water for day 2. Probably already stunted its growth. Small amounts of water during seedling stage. As mentioned a spray bottle or small amounts around the plants base. It'll be fine as long as you don't water again before cups dry. But when medium's dry roots stretch out looking for water you've saturated that cup the roots wont have to move far which is why it could already be stunted. Get another cup fill it with dry dirt use that to go off of on weight as to when you'll need to water again. Remember to water the plant not the pot/cup. I normally don't feel the whole cup until like week 3. I used to make my seedlings pass 3 tests before I watered. 1- does the top soil look dry. 2- if yes does it feel dry. 3- if yes does the layer right under the top look and feel dry. If it passed all 3 only then would I water. A spray bottle 10 to 15 mists on each side of the plants base would be sufficient in the beginning. Once you're having to water like that 2ce a day you can give more. Also a good idea to keep a sandwich bag over the cup the first several days to keep humidity up. The sandwich bag also keeps soil moist.

Guys they call it weed for a reason. Once it’s going good you can’t kill it. Well except for the new exotics but that’s lab weed not real weed. They used to make rope out of it we won a few wars with the help of this plant. Dont make it so complicated.

What is lab weed?
what is real weed?
you’ve never killed a seedling?

I’ll have to agree with you on don’t make it complicated. But overwatering is a serious issue with new growers.

I’m still curious. What’s exotic lab weed?
I’m as old as Tom Petty, we bother started in the 60’s or 70’s and I agree with him today’s pot is too strong and doesn’t even seem like weed, some doesn’t even smell like weed. I’ve grown a couple exotics and that ain’t natural. I’m sure there are a few old timers around here that know what I mean. When we first went legal I took the opportunity to try as many different strains as I could and if I would have tried a few of those new exotics first would never have done it again. Most of you youngsters wouldn’t understand your brains are too fogged from your 30% weed lol. If I want to smell petunias or pumpkin spice I’ll light a candle but I want my weed to taste and smell like weed.

Lmao. Well I’m not an old head by no means.
but at 30. I’m old enough to know that 30+% is not the best weed.
But I understand. My moms bf is somewhere around 65 and he likes low grade flower as well. He only smokes a few hits at night of what I grow. The rest is mostly high Cbd or just low THC.

You guys are missing the very best part! The strong thc weed is great if you want to go straight from sober to totally baked in a couple hits, but that causes you to miss the best magical part, the “buzz”. You totally skip that with modern strong weed. And this crap causes tolerance too, that’s why I’m on a tolerance break now. I was never tolerant before legalization not one time.

Try this soon kids. You can thank me later. Instead of taking a few lung busting hits on your chocolate lemon berry spice, try sipping on it instead. Make it last 10 minutes. Do it after a few days off. You’ll see…
