Pro mix hp with dry amendments

Ok so I have a bale of pro mix hp and was thinking of using dry amendments through out the entire grow. Should I add in compost, crustacean meal, gypsum and basalt dust, and oyster shell flour before hand and then just top dress with the dry amendments or can I get away with just adding some compost/worm castings to the pro mix long with some dry amendments before planting and top dress through out the grow?

When amending the medium the most important thing I’ve learned is that the dry amendments etc be balanced. Top dressing gives you more leeway. But what’s in the soil needs to be balanced. There’s a Dr Earth, and a Gaia Green group in FB with people using only those for the dry amendments. They both have a lot of success. I use Down to Earth and Dr Earth. If you’re new to all this and growing in general my suggestion is to use Dr earth or Gaia green. As they have compete formulas for veg and bloom. I tried using individual amendments and it was a nightmare for me lol.
I would add EWC to the peat and amend with dr earth 444. Most in the FB group follow the instructions on the bag. This place doesn’t really dig the whole dry amendments in soilless mediums but it’s works great when you get it ironed out.

I've seen countless people struggle with promix or coco plus random dry amendments. You can try, but it would be better to follow a working recipe. This "LC mix" was really common before people got into the living soil recipes with rock dust and all the other stuff. These recipes will give you a decent shot at success, good luck! https://www.icmag.com/forum/marijuana-growing/organic-soil/48694-organics-for-beginners?t=53792

Your other option is, to take that promix and get some one or two part complete inorganic fertilizer and just feed every time you water. Look into Megacrop or Jack's a&b (123) or Maxibloom. This thread will show you a very cheap, simple and effective way to use it https://www.icmag.com/forum/marijuana-growing/nutrients-and-fertilizers/189616-the-k-i-s-s-method?t=191645

Both options grow great weed!

Hey...I ran across this post a few days ago so I thought I'd give LC's Soilless #2 it a shot for my upcoming grow. Just thought I'd let you know I appreciate the links you've offered as this will be my first attempt at indoor and living soil recipe.
