I don’t know what happened to the driver. I got a lawyer and was paid out $7,500 for my injury . Never aware it was called “dooring” . Quite soon after that injury we moved to Boulder Co. I picked Boulder because that town seemed really bike friendly and had lots of off roads bike trails. It was fun and I liked Boulder. They have some cool rock formations there called the Flatirons.
What made you leave Boulder? You seemed really unhappy in OK.

It’s a long complicated story. That was a very long time ago, I moved like 20 times since that place. Oklahoma was just a stepping stone. It was a contract I took for a couple years with no intention of ever staying. Just trying to make my way back to the eastern part of the country. I am a nomad.

I've never seen that mountain in Toronto. ;)
I think Bloor to Eglinton is the biggest climb in Toronto. Or heading west on Eglinton around Kipling or Islington. Been so long. But your right, you won't see this hill in Toronto.
Long time since I left TO. That's mount Ozzard in the back ground. Been living on Vancouver Island last 16 years.

My husband got into a car wreck yesterday and we have to get some work done to the car . so I was thinking when the car is in the shop I can get them to install a hitch for a new bike rack because I like the hitch models a lot better. Looks like they can do it on my 2018 Corolla from what I saw from a YouTube video but I have to check with the body shop. Then I am getting rid of our other car. I have had it with driving. One car will have to do, I like don’t even use a car anymore anyway and that will seal the deal . I calculated how much I have given Geico over the past 19 years for car insurance and it’s about $30,000.

You will have no trouble getting rid of your other car, at a premium price right now, due to the car shortage.

I'm seriously thinking of becoming a 1 car family soon myself. But it sure is handy having a pickup truck at times.

Hope your hubby is ok!!

The car is totaled. The repairs exceed the value. It was a 2018 Toyota Corolla . Geico is cutting me a $20,000 check. I am in shock. The damage was in the back left side and looked so superficial but they said that it was pretty severe underneath. So I am now a one car family and have no desire to get another car. I never drive anymore anyway. My husband is fine. He didn’t get injured at all, thank goodness. The airbag didn’t even go off . I guess they make these cars to crack In half before a person does. Nice work Toyota.
I think a hitch for a rear rack is an excellent idea. They can do it to almost any model car now
Yeah I will look into getting one on my 2015 Corolla.

I bought a Helium Pro Thule 2 car bike rack but returned it because I could not remove it from my hitch and the knob with the key to help stability was stupid. Tomorrow I am headed out to get the QUAT Sherpa 2.0 and hoping that one works better. It has what I consider simpler features like the hitch pin with lock.

Hope for a speedy and full recovery.
I watched that crash live. You could tell he was a ball of nerves because he was trying to do his signature “caveman” jump off the cliff as a starting point. He stood at the edge of the cliff for a good 5-7 minutes with bike in hand, trying to figure out how to pull it off, before giving up and heading back to the starting gate to ride in like everyone else. I really feel for the dude, the crash sent my three year old into the other room because it was so scary.

He’s a champ, I really hope for a speedy recovery for him. That sounds like he’s gonna have a bunch of surgeries coming up
