I just put the bud in the jars and it reads 51% rh and am wondering if thats ok and I heard that it will slowly go up, will it go up to the right humidity or is it to dry?

Depends. Usually it takes 24 to 48 hrs for the jar humidity to get stable and see what you have.
Overly wet will usually spike not long after jarring

so I should wait around 36 hours to see if it goes up to the percentage i want and if it doesn't use the boveda?

Yes, you should wait before adding anything the boveda. It takes time to see what you have. The pot itself will equalize humidity wise before you see the true moisture level in the jar. Lots of material in a jar
Pretty sure most dispensary pot is overdried, then rehydrated due to fears of mold.
