When I first moved to where I am there was a an old pasture in the back. The sheep made it look like a garden the way they kept the grass trimmed with the multiflora rose all around. At one time it was a golf course and a raspberry farm.
I love sheep.
These are Connamara Black Faced, my boyo's :)

I come from a long line of herders on my mothers side & at my peak personally owned around 40 in Ireland on the family farm.
We would mostly just take the wool for sale & at later stages of the animals life span harvest the animal for meat.
We never butchered a lamb (Fuck that/we had a heart :) )
I did this (and the pints were luvly afterwards :) )

We were poor & didn't have electricity at the pens so we used hand shears like these (pain in the arse :) )

Yea, I've had a weird life, huh?

Since Hurricane Micheal I can see the red lights on cell towers all around me. Plus driving in to my farm you can see the lights from houses across the river. I guess they have always been there, we just couldn't see them before.

UK Readying New Law Mandating Home EV Chargers Be Shut Down During Peak Hours

As EV owners are starting to unfortunately learn, electricity to power your "green" vehicles has to come from somewhere.

This is a tough dose of reality that many EV owners in the U.K. could be facing next year now that a new law has been proposed to switch off home EV chargers during peak hours. The law seeks to prevent excessive strain on the grid, according to a new article from Inside EVS.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced the proposed law that stipulates that EV chargers may not function for "up to nine hours a day" to prevent overloading the grid.

Beginning May 30, 2022, all chargers that are installed must be "smart" chargers connected to the internet, allowing their functions to be limited between 8am to 11am and 4pm to 10pm.

Like changing how our society functions is going to be easy and seamless? Dream on. That does not change the fact it needs to be done.

Anyone who thinks fossil fuels are going away or a 100% electric fleet is a fool. A new gasoline powered car has a lower carbon foot print than an electric. But as coal is phased out the cost will sky rocket. And that is the real goal so people reduce their energy usage. This is not a good thing especially with the added Mega load of replacing fossil fuels.
