Right? If, in the past, some shitty people made laws to make it hard, then you'd have to have no significant number of decent people since then to change those laws. I think there's just no getting around these problems being either really hard to fix, or that people are too shitty to fix it, or some combination thereof. And don't take this as a "they are all the same" argument, because I think you'll find that most dems want to help people, whereas most pubs want to help themselves, and you'd obviously have a much better chance of addressing an issue with people that want to address it, but it's literally a thousand times easier to send a man to the moon than it is to fix homelessness.
