Is it normal for buds to lose smell when harvest and smell like hay?

I’m pretty sure putting them in jars is a pretty important step
Jars are nice for letting you see how pretty the buds are while keeping them stable but not really necessary. Just about anything will do. I keep buds in paper grocery bags, inside plastic contractors bags, inside plastic totes and the stay just right over the long haul. I only use jars to store the buds I intend to be smoking in the near future.
Long cool drying is where it's at for me though.
To avoid mold issues while drying (especially outdoor weed) a bud wash using potassium bicarbonate, then hydrogen peroxide, then finally water helps kill off any spores. Then just keep the air moving in the drying area. And check on them as they dry. They will eventually stabilize. And that, for me is where they should be.
I have buds from two years ago dried and stored this way that are still as dense, spongy and dank as when they went into the bags. They never get crumbly or dry out too much.
But that's just how I do it. To each their own.
Good luck friends!

Like i said I had to re phrase what I meant. Not jars, Just about anything that holds the correct temp and humidity for bulk amounts work.
