Right Time OR Wait?

Have just checked trichomes on my plants are milky n looking good to pull
Question....I watered them 3 days ago soil is damp throughout 5gallon pot.
Not sure weather to split n spread stems now and put them in darkness for 48hrs or leave them ah couple of days for soil to dry out ah bit before pulling n drying?

The 48 hour darkness thing is the naive belief that starving the plant of light for 48 hours before you chop it, in some magical way, increases trichome and/or THC production. Bro Science.

Lol ya I know...
The 'idea' is you damage the plant so it somehow gets better ? Don't fully understand the logic on that one.
Make sure to dip the roots in boiling water then hang upside down so the thc drips down into the tips of the buds while we're at it.

Yet today I watched a well respected cannabis growing Youtuber preach the virtues of both flushing and 48 hrs of darkness. According to him it increases terpenes, THC and trichomes. So I see where this utter bollocks comes from.
