Remove helmet head or leave it?

I also heard it happens when the seed isn’t buried deep enough-think I was guilty of not covering in soil or burying it deep enough. This was my first time just putting seed in soil, I used to germinate prior to planting

I have best germination rate using temp controlled humidity dome, seed in the soil. The way it’s meant to be

It looks like part of the membrane is still attached........mist it again with water and it will soften.
And contrary to what @OneMoreRip says........never use a humidity dome for seedlings..........domes are for clones.
You were very correct about membrane still being attached. I tried misting again to no avail, so I went back in with the tweezers. Managed to get all the membrane off and the sprout finally opened, but my cotyledons are basically all yellow. I think she can pull through, but I’m not certain 7C908667-A6B3-40C9-A234-AEC46FD28DCA.jpeg7C908667-A6B3-40C9-A234-AEC46FD28DCA.jpeg

Why is the seedling at the edge of the cup instead of the center?
Fucked up a bit when I planted the seed. I didn’t bury it deep enough and when I watered it drifted the seed off to the side. Is it going to be a problem as it is before I transplant?

Plant deeper, 1/2 inch at least so the soil pulls the shell off. Leave this one alone, she should root fine. Easy on the water, wait til the cup is featherlight, she’ll find the water in the bottom in a day or two.
