Kratky Hydroponic Grow. 1 plant is acting weird

How are they looking?? Any suggestions?

Did you run those with airstone, just looking at the tube line going into the top, that's what it loos like...

How did these turn out?

Kratky was without airstones. I had an airstone as it was my first grow.
My roots had rotted as I had filled up the container too much. I really did not use it much though. I just used to trim any rotting roots. You will have bottom roots rotting pretty often.

They turned out pretty amazing considering the problems I faced during flowering .
 
Kratky is traditionally done with NO air stones, that's what makes it Kratky, I am aware of this, but you ran air stones, I can see your tubes.
But you say you didn't use the air stone often, why?

Don't you think it would have prevented the root rot issues if you had run the air stones "more often?"
Those were 1 gallon glass jars, right? What was your final weight on the 3? Thank-you!

Like I said, I installed air stones as preventive measure when I had filled up my container to the brim the first time and faced 90% roots rotting. Eventually I figured it out with help of my friends here and removed the air stones. Used to only fill the container 75% full.
This was a sativa strain, only LST, no scrog, gave me about 25 grams of smokable stuff. I had pest issues during flowering which really minimized my yield.

This was a half gallon container.

That's an interesting strain! I have seen huge plants like that in Nepal, growing volunteer all over the mountain sides. Hybrids are 'a dime a dozen' (not literally, they are rather expensive for most) but land-race strains, the pure varieties are becoming more rare.

Are you in coco or soil? Lookin' ok!

They are harder to grow, but grow like real mutha fuckers.
I am in a coco soil mix. 50% soil and 25% coco in the mix along with ewc ,cow manure, bone meal and sea weed + humic acid top ups

I agree, they are harder it seems, maybe they are typically more sensitive because of the environment they normally come from. Making proper adjustments to keep them going is well worth the effort, landrace is really good stuff and not so easy to come by nowadays. Thank-you.
 
I'm currently finishing up a Kratky grow and if I had it to do all over again I'd put in a pump and air stone. I've seen side-by-side comparisons and the ones with the pump and air grow about 30% bigger.

I agree to that. I observed somewhat similar traits during comparison. I thought that the kratky plant is sick.

I've seen success in straight kratky all the way through but they had trouble because they did not change solution, I would think an air stone will greatly increase chances of success to finish, it seem easy enough to throw one in there, even if it's on a timer to run at interval.

Yeah, it was a PIA to change the veg nutes out for the flower nutes, then I had to add more water/nutes/Ph down twice more. If nothing else, I am always learning what not to do. :)

Oh, there is definitely something to see here if you want to learn tips on (more) passive growing, hehe (for the most part) but what I'm wondering is how best to lift off the top to change those nutes. My thought is gently raise the top (you can use a ratchet rope(s) rigged to both sides?), change the bucket out for a fresh-up new bucky, then gently lower your top-down (w/plant seated in netcup) onto the fresh bucket, job 1, job done! If you know of any grow from start to finish documented, I'd like to know about it and thanks for sharing!
