Haven’t been on here much since things went legal in Cali. Just wanted to see if there’s any familiar faces around.

As for me I grinded as a home grower till about 2019 when I was brought on a flower team in a fully licensed facility. 300 lights total broken up in different rooms. I’m still here growing in the Rec market as a lead grower helping over seeing the flower rooms. It’s definitely not a finished product as the facility was running equipment that came out in the 2000s LOL. It’s been a grind but the experience has been so valuable.

anyway here’s some pics let’s chat it up ! 411E6733-1B5D-433B-9261-36B6B5BFBFD1.jpeg795FA195-4703-448E-A12F-7DF954A5AE04.jpegCC1A9A8C-A079-4321-87E7-6B24CE2B88E0.jpegB1AC48C3-0F04-4C16-B22E-0A85B33A7AB9.jpeg

Yea I don’t agree with a lot of the layout and setup but i just work the rooms. I try to make suggestions but egos are big lol
The right people will let you drive and wrench... I got real lucky meeting the folks I did. I am not an easy person to get along with, but numbers don't lie

And a good idea should always be listen to.

A commercial grow needs to be as efficient as it is dynamic.

Success can be as a hindrance

I've always wondered why commercial grows run so many small plants and so close together. How do they get in there to prune them and work on them? I've tried running lots of small plants in 6" rockwool and didn't get a good yield, or as many grams/watts as larger plants

Space planning...

Take a 4 X 8 table with 4or 8 larger/medium sized plants on it... vs 32 small plants in 2k LED

To efficiently utilize light 4 plants need to run at optimal capacity for their entire life...

32 plants can diversify optimal growth between them... and additionally only need to produce 1/8th the yield to attain the same effect as the 4 in the same space

Aka space planning... less work for each plant and when you really hitting it... you get crazy yields

holdover habits from prohibition growing. The faster your turnaround the lower the risk.

It's called SOG. They're faster. Veg shorter. They're not topping or training. I have a picture somewhere of a friend laying on his back trimming.

So true...

More turn overs more money...

It's always about money.. from the karma-esq living soil i barter for karma grower

to the medical I want cheaper better grower

To the cost/labor/value to customer grower...

It's always money...

I don't see anyone here doing LST but I haven't been to them all. Not on 10K square feet of canopy.
Uh I'm using LST as low stress training... umbrella term for anything you do that doesn't negatively effect the plant, which is also Subjective...maybe il start a thread where I do a technique at request to show its contrasting outcomes vs the control... aptitude is a thing...

bet days 4,5,6,7..gonna look real good..focus so much growth to 4-6 nodes..perfect for vertical growth to fill a cubic space...

previous grow has 10ft of height to grow too, the site before that had 12...this grow has 8..just less work in my mind

I get that but with LST you have to be able to get in there and prune the plants. The plants in those pics and others I've seen on commercial grows are packed in...no room for someone to work on them.
I do run a seperate veg and bloom room...limited to 73 plants, I veg for 6 weeks or so before the bloom and take down 30# from 36 plants. If I were to run 72 smallish plants I can't see getting more weight.
I digress though, the commercial growers have huge money in these setups so I assume they know more than i

be we do work on them, packed in there and everything, im 6'4 ...sometimes it helps sometimes it helps

labor and lights are always the most costly expense .. only 1 has a ceiling to its added value
