First Time Growing in Long Island, Question About Soil

So the title says it all, I'm planning on growing here on the island and I would like to do an outdoor grow. I am not too sure of the type of soil I have (I know I can get it tested and I will), can I dig out a hole for each seedling and fill it with super soil for it to use during its growth?

Yes or you can build raised beds
I use straw bales as the frame

If the area is growing/supporting growth now, even weeds it’s probably better than you think. Also pay attention to were you get puddles if any and avoid

I'm not from the area Mr. Fingers but isn't it cold as fuck up there this time if year?
You may also want to consider what sort of seeds you grow depending on your local season. You don't want something that isn't even close to finishing flower when it starts to freeze in the fall/winter.

Yea it gets pretty cold around September but I was looking to get plants in before June 21st

I'm growing 12 plants so I was going to make a 24'x30' enclosure (I have local deer and cats) and then I'm going to make a raised flower bed big enough for 3x4 of the plants... unless I should make an individual bed for each plant?

Individual beds are easier to water and train plants

It’s more important to watch spacing than if they ea have a bed. Proper spacing and it’s the same

Choose a short flowering strain. Indica dominant. Grow in a spot that gets morning sunshine. Extremely important. Your soil is probably adequate so till it up and mix in a lot of compost. Do not use bark or sawdust. Those attract insects and provide no benefit. Good luck.
