Im going to soon be re potting my plants, so i was wondering wat can u add to the soil, for exmaple dried banana skin, to give your plants some seriously healthy nutrients. Also would adding a orange peel give me a lower PH level as my soil is exactly 7 and for my White widows i would prefer it to be 6.4
THanks

I'd be very cautious of adding anything not decomposed, as it will attract unwanted guests, get all ur composted good shit into the pot
don't try to compost and grow at the same time, organic teas are a much better angle to take

good luck

I run a composting soil, as in rotting remnants. The banana I usually slurry and mix in with my soil. I always put a 1" layer of coco on top to discourage fungus gnats. If they somehow find a way to circumvent that, I move on to diatomaceous earth.

Personally, I prefer a composting soil. Nutrition seems to last longer and it prevents compaction over time. Just my thoughts.

So I am a 1st generation grower started my first crop when I was 14 now this is my 4th and biggest grow at 24 2 in pots and 2 in open soil and I believe I gave my plant nutrient burn but Im hopin its potassium deficiency (if there is a difference) so Im usin banana 4 potassium oranges 4 citric acid( dont know benefits yet) and egg shells 4 calcium 2 make my roots stronger I put everythin on to top so It can mulch in2 compost View attachment 3601660 View attachment 3601661 View attachment 3601663
You shouldn't use them like that it takes to long to break down. Make a powder and pour a tablespoon on the top soil and mix in with your hands. Don't be to rough though

I'm currently mixing up a batch of fresh soil mixture...I use MYCORRHIZAE by ProMix, then mix the appropriate amount of flowering bat guano powder and the appropriate amount of Muriate of Potash. We consume a lot of bananas around here, so I've cut up pounds of skins and mixed in old coffee grounds and egg shells...let that decay throughout fall and winter. I'm going to mix up some old black banana skin chunks...I'm sure my girls will love it. Just make sure that the skins are fairly well on their way to decomposition or you'll attract bugs.

And don't worry about using chemical fertilizers, just remember, too much is much fertilizers is much more difficult to remedy than not enough. You know, if the instructions say use 30 ml per 4 litres of water, and you've never tried the stuff before, use 1/2 the recommended amount, 2/3 at most. And I always boil some water to mix in the powder fertilizer so that it's completely dissolved into liquid form first. The more you grow, the more you'll learn...I mean, you'll run into issues, but like my dad always used to say,"Just leave it be Gerry, it's a damn weed and did just fine without you before forever."

things u can do with banana peel

1. Help Your Garden Grow: Bananas are naturally high in potassium and encourages plant growth. Use banana peel or puree entire banana and bury with soil.
2. Shoe Polish: Use the peel to make your kicks nice and shiny.
3. Stop the Itch: Rub the inside of a banana peel on a bug bite helps itch relief.
4. Pain Reliever: The oil in a banana peel will help relieve the pain from burns and scratches.
5. Wart Removal: Tape a piece of banana peel on a wart, continue until it’s gone.
6. Make Houseplants Gleam: Just like peels can shine shoes, they can also be used to make the leaves of plants shine.
7. Removing Splinters: Similar to wart removal, tape a piece of the peel over the splinter. The enzymes will help dislodge the splinter and heal the wound.
you can also eat them believe it or not

ye i am bored, but i heard dried banana skins makes roses like double in size so i think it may work with cannabis 2
If you had some worms in there to break it down then yes, go for it. maybe..kinda tempted to try this myself today. See if the worms do come out and tear up this banana peel. Think I'll try a little piece for a tester today. If the worms do come out, I'll post a pic later on.

I see the bowl deal used with the worms, that the best way to feed them?

The thing is worms like dark areas , so using a dark bowl they’ll eat 24/7 , in a week the 250-300grams gone mostly just abit of beetroot left , I used a blender to make it finer, they just eat it quickly. I like them enjoying their food, real organic top dressing ‍♂
Thanks, I'll grab me a dark bowl then. :)
