Sunflower in coco, ppm, pH?

It has 2 sets of true leaves. Few days germinating and about a week of growth. I've only been giving it tap. 6.4 pH, 115 ppm. Also...silica?

After successfully growing my first reefer plants, I'm trying regular gardening lol. I couldn't find much information about growing sunflowers like cannabis...go figure. :roll:

I'm also doing tomatoes, red/bell peppers, lettuce and poppies. Never done any of those, let alone with dtw coco haha. If anyone feels like commenting on that, it would be more than welcomed as well :)

I've done tomatoes and hot peppers in hempy buckets with great success outdoors. ~90% coco, three inches of chucky perlite on bottom, drain hole 2" above bottom. I fed at EC 2.0, pH ~ 5.8-6.0 with Maxibloom. It holds enough water to get through a hot summer day.

Its really no different at all than growing cannabis.


This one lost a few large branches during storms but still yielded gallons of scorpion peppers.

Feed them as you would anything else.
I don't do sunflowers.

You could probably do the same thing in reverse. Feed your cannabis the runoff from tomatoes and peppers.

Oh, I can get lazy and re-feed the runoff to them too. Not often but it happens. All the other plants usually use it up though.

I grew sunflowers last year. I started them inside and then moved them outside for the summer. They grew like crazy the first 2 weeks after sprout. They were probably 2 feet or more in just 2 weeks. Then i was stuck with them in my tent because it was still cold outside. :clap:

I just want a few for looks. I learned there are dwarf breeds. But I'm hoping I can keep height in check between pot size, light and nutrient deprivation haha. But I'm a rookie and this is my learning :dunce:

You're best bet would be the miniature varieties.

These Sunbuzz look nice. I'm thinking of getting a pack of seeds myself now that I look at them. They would make a great addition to the front yard without getting too tall and potentially falling over. Or in some of my planters in the backyard.

Damn, so much stuff i want to grow and not enough space. Anyone want to donate an acre or so?
