Plants growing too slow??

Al, had a question for you, since you know alot about hydro.

Im doing hydro, with RC mini cubes. 5 gal buckets- Drain to Waste. almost 3 weeks in flowering. My fan leaves are starting to turn yellow with purple in it. this is on top of the leaf, not under the leaf. Im using 3-2-1 formula. with flowering additives. DO you think im using too much nutes for them? This is a new strain that i've never grown before. But its a purple strain. Do you think I need more N (nitrogen in it)?

RW is highly absorbent and can't be flooded frequently. You're probably overwatering. Slow growth is a telltale, along with yellowing lower leaves. Reduce flooding to 1x/day for about 3-4 mins. Use H2O2 50% grade @ 1ml/L in your tank every 3-4 days.

Al is long gone bro. Check your pH, what ppm are you running?

My ph is 5.8-6.0 and the ppm is almost at the second dot to the highest that the blue stick measures?. Hmm.. I think its at 2800ppm.

I think you need to drop the nitrogen and up the P, K bro. Are you using the three part? Use less base and more bloom but shoot for the same ppm. See if they improve if it is purple genetics this can happen too as purpling is often occurs in nutrient deficient plants. Oh and drop the bloom boosters for now, later when the buds get bigger just add a little.

3-2-1 is generally a veg proportion feeding.

Flower is 1-2-3 as a general rule.

and I have heard some strains can take it but 2800 ppm is proper jet fuel.....I might ease off the tds a bit and try the flower proportions (1-2-3)on nutes.

Thanks for giving good advice I have seen you other posts bro. Thanks for hanging around RIU. You are right too 2800 ppm is high, some strains grow like crazy under those conditions but others start to die.

Oh and I never answered the Al question. He got a great job offer and is no longer growing. He is still fighting the good fight for the cannabis community just in a a different way.
