Seems to be a lot faster and reduces the risk of mould . Do you lose smell and taste ?
Do you need to dry your bud first before you water cure or put them in water directly of the chop.thinking of trying this with my brother. Lights harvest as it's extremely low odor and smells mildly peppery so not a huge loss if it loses its smell and taste . He'll if it's smooth and within a matter of 7 days awesome

You can throw them in water directly after chop, change the water twice every 24 hrs, for three or more days. Then hang em to dry, it will dry faster than fresh chopped buds. No taste or familiar smell, Tried it once and didn't like it.

i do the traditional jar burping cure, read others experiences with water and freeze dry curing, they didn't seem to be having a lot of success. curing takes time, i don't think there's a way to speed it up that doesn't cost you aroma and taste..
I would believe that , that said is it effective at actually dry curing without effecting terpenes and trichomes . I mean a low Odor strain or a strain you like but don't particularly enjoy the taste and aroma . Would it be if benefit in that regard . I mean why wait 1-2 months + drying and curing of the smell and taste is t a huge priority with certain strains . I mean don't get me wrong I have a couple of great strains a few weeks from harvest and the smell is great so I will definitely be drying and curring the traditional way . But I have some northern lights which is pretty much ready the smell is very low odor peppery so I'm not 100% sure if be overly concerned about the taste and odor with it . Maybe I'm wrong

Drying & Curing
  1. Harvest plants when ready (milky trichomes with some amber trichomes visible)
  2. Chop branches into a length you can comfortably pluck the fan leaves off
  3. Pluck all non-sugar leaves off the branches then hang on clothes hanger
  4. Hang clothes hanger in a dark room/tent/closet at 60-65 °F | 60-65% RH
  5. Usually 12-14 days later the buds will be crispy and dry enough to trim
  6. Trim buds, remove excess stem and put into a sealed container
  7. Open the sealed container once a day for 10-20 mins and move buds around gently to aerate everything with fresh air.
Sounds like a lot but it is easy.

Chop plants, pluck fan leaves, hang in dark cool room with 60-65% humidity and allow to slowly dry until stems snap before trimming.
After trimmed, let buds go into a sealed container/bag and open it once a day for 10-20 mins every day for at least a week or until buds are at desired moisture.

When you put the buds into a container after trimming the idea is the moisture evens out through all the buds, when you burp it or open the jar/bag it allows some dry fresh air in, this will further lower the moisture in the buds. Do this a few times and you'll be enjoying some smooth dank smoke.

When you pluck the fan leaves off the branches when harvesting you're reducing your workload later trimming, it's wayyy easier to pluck a leaf off than to sit there with scissors trying to get in there and snip the crows feet out. Not to mention Fan leaves are trash anyways and shouldn't go into your trim material. Sugar leaves only.

A good wash in water for outdoor is great, leads to some very smooth smoke and more even drying too. But not sure I'd do the cure thing.
