Removed a few awkward placed branches week into flower

So I had these awkward placed branches and I decide just to lop them off specially the ones hitting the side walls of the tent I’m bending them out to the sides and training them tht way nxt time in a 2x4 ..

should I remove everything below 3-4 nodes on every branch and offshoots?? I mean I have on a few but should I? Like on this offshoot:

And this is a main branch I removed all lower shoots tht are gonna be covered up by the growth right above

I’ve also been having issues with the plant handling higher light intensity I’m using a 150watt maxsisun at 40% 22inches high
up untill now ..I’ve tried raising the intensity but it starts Praying excessively , chlorosis issues, raised leaf edges ..

is this normal for some strains tht can’t handle\require much light? Should I even raise the intensity for flower ? Maybe 5-10% start of 3rd week of flower?

anyways I removed a few branches and offshoots tht were just gonna be a hassle not to worried on yield too .. this is how it’s doing so far tho bout 9 days flowering

There always a tipping point, pot size and canopy size, every shoot needs space to grow, spacing them out every 6-10" is a must in my opinion, you want the canopy to look like a SOG in 6" pots, so 16 main shoots in a 2ft x 2ft is the tipping pot IMO
Sure, but the tops can be thinner or shorter to accommodate more tops. Fourty tops would probably be larger than than 2*2, but if they are small there can be quite a few. It just becomes more SCROGish. How do you even tell which is a top and which is a branch when they are pretty much on the same level? I usually count everything as top. It's an equation of veg time, plant count, area, phenotype, and other factors. Knowing how to optimize that equation for most yield and highest quality in your situation is difficult. Pretty much the most difficult thing in growing weed.

How many tops? I dunno. Quite a few. Ended up less than three feet wide. How many more tops could I have removed and still yield the same? I do not know. I could have removed some of the smaller ones (or some nodes at places) and the plant would have been better off for it, but it still ended up pretty good. This was in a 2*4 so kind of relevant for op too :)

good question.
Nice canopy, guess week 2 in flower(12/12) looking at the tops.

When one shoot grows taller than another, it shadows the lower shoots, the lower shoots will stretch and this shoot will produce a lower amount of bud for the space it uses, but the shoot is still using up light, space, and drawing food from the root mass, but also the larger shoot has less room to grow, so the crop size will be a little smaller.

My guess is 4-5 weeks in flower your canopy would be very full, maybe be you have 30-40 long thin buds, but after they dry out the buds are going to be small, with endless trimming and leaves to get rid of, it's not fun I have been there.

This is the spacing I look for

IMG_0868.JPG

The fan leaves really bush out, the fan leaves can grow 12" long, and the buds 3-4" thick.
with a thick canopy, you just haven't got the space for good bud growth.

That's why the results from mainline look so impressive, each main shoot has lots of room to grow.

Very nice looking plant too! And 16 tops per 2*2 sound good to me. I'm just saying a rigid number will not suit every grow.

I already finished that grow. It was alone in the tent and I could spread out the sides a little for more light so I utilized that. Very short, not much more than a foot tall. Both of those things helped with getting light and air everywhere. The pot is a 25l square pot and one foot wide. Like I said, I should have removed a few small branches more or a bit of nodes. It was a bit too thick in places. Doesn't utilize all of the tent area either, but that would've meant at least two more weeks of veg.

Looks good to me. I would leave it like that. Grow it out, pay attention to how each part grows and learn loads.
yeah definitely, not really worried about yield just trying to learn as much as I can while doing it gotta get in there and be hands on to learn is the best .. I’ll maybe remove few leafs at the end of 2nd week to make sure all bud sites are getting light

Looks good. I would in the future chop those lower branches off that grow really close to the trunk. They tend to either grow horizontally like that as they gotta fight their way to the light.
yeah I will next time remove those I was thinking the same but didn’t want to remove too much cause I can’t glue back on lol

next time I’ll go with a mainline method better would make it a lot easier to fill out a small tent like a 2x4

ive been dealing with tht with this strain ,
One shoot growing taller than the other shoot right beside it ..

Should I go ahead and remove the smaller shoot ? I’d rather get rid of those small shoots and have space for buds to grow without all of em touching and being cramped… I’ll definitely go with a mainline method , I could’ve done tht as u can tell by the new pics I uploaded if I would’ve removed the branches below the topping cut

wow, that's is a very impressive plant, I like the way you set the LED up, guess the plant is receiving a very even spread of light.
I don't really care about the height, most growers end up removing the lower growth anyway, as long as the canopy is 1ft tall, your ok.

So I took some pics this morning where it’s not drooping.. but I do still have a few questions for future reference..

should I remove those shoots tht are smaller than the one nxt too it?

do I remove lower growth/shoots on each branch&offshoot
And leave just 3-4 nodes at the top ..?

Seems accurate C12CFF1E-897C-4F09-A7F1-8053C5398D71.jpeg

should I raise humidity? It’s been pretty dry in LA and heat is coming in I just put in my window ac and that’ll further dry out the air

If so to what percentage? My humidifier goes up to 40%-55%

your canopy looks good, I would not remove any shoots in the center, I would top them if you can at some stage (up to 2 weeks in flower 12/12)
The small cluster of small shoots at the end of the main shoots is the only place you can have bud growth, at this stage the plants could double in size,
I would remove the odd side shoot to spread them out, in time you should be able to tie every main shoot onto the bucket, (could take 2-3 weeks, be slow and careful, next you want to space every main shoot out as even as possible when you turn them over to flower(12/12) let the shoot grow vertical, should reach 12-18" high without any trouble.
you could drill 2 sets of holes in the bucket to support (2ft plant sticks) you want the sticks 1ft above the bucket to support the shoots.

With your current plants, lots of main shoots always remove the small side one and top the larger one, it will slow the growth down(on the side shoot, this is a good thing) and the side shoot will become 2 again in a week or two, often top 2 weeks in flower (12/12)
one shoot becomes two and the shoot only grows 6", becomes a massive solid lump of bud.

The first week in flower, the plants do not grow much.
The main stretch happens 7 to 14 days in flower.
most strains will stop growing 3-4 weeks in flower
