Maybe I overdried my flowers

Hi everyone, unfortunately due to health reasons (hospitalized) I had to leave my buds to dry for a few more days than necessary and last night I proceeded immediately to put them in jars. Almost all of the smaller branches were breaking off and the larger ones most were only bending and only a few were breaking off but the flowers seemed to be quite dry though not quite. I put everything in the jars last night and this morning after about 6 hours the humidity was at 53% in some and 51% in others. Do you say to wait a little longer to see if I have totally screwed up the curing? If the answer is negative is there any method that gives me any hope to recover from this situation? I know that if it goes down too much manually increasing the humidity will not change anything since the process works only if you gradually lower the humidity that is already inside. I have a few small packages of boveda 8g at 62% tell me if they can be useful in any way.
Thanks in advance guys

i’d give the bovedas a chance in this unfortunate situation. one in each jar would better than nothing.

Open the jars in bathroom...run the shower on full hot...put lids on while in bathroom after about 20 min...worked for me

I guess I don’t get what your asking, but I’ll attempt to answer based on what I think your saying.

If you’ve jarred them typically they’ll bounce back with enough moisture once or twice before they are FUBAR and too dry.

If they are FUBAR just get a baggy a wet paper towel and throw it in with the jars not touching any buds. Make sure to check every few hours and eventually within 24 hours they will bounce back to pliable again. Take out the baggy and paper towel when they get pliable as too long is bad too. Not ideal and might lose some smell/terps and taste but better than having dry crusty sand bud.

Save the bovedas imo.

I had a person tell me it didn't work for them but it definitely worked for me! Maybe I got lucky?? I used damp papertowel and put it under the lid. Took it out when the RH reached 65. It leveled down to 62 and stayed there. Buds did get more moist...

Also tried the bovedas.. bought a ton and used them in some, and never in others. Honestly seemed like the ones with the bovedas had lost some smell! I took out the bovedas and a day or two later they began to smell great again Screenshot_20220217-142831_Gallery.jpg

Yes, leave them in the jars for 24h and check them again, hopefully they get up over 58% and you got lucky.
I checked them this morning and they came in some at 55% to some at 54%.... Did I screw up the whole curing process? I read that if the ganja is a bit drier than the usual standard, when you embark it's better to wait 72 hours to see if anything changes... what do I do? Do I wait or do I start putting everything in manually?

I was thinking of emptying the jars and wet them with water and then dry them with a hair dryer so as to create a wet but not dripping patina in the glass... we will see... maybe I will try directly with the napkin

Ahahahaha awesome that word! I'll write it down somewhere...anyway basically I wanted to know if in any way I could improve the situation of my ganja and if I had totally screwed up the whole curing process! I'll try the wet napkin! I read that bovedas have that "negative" effect because they preserve the terpenes by creating a sort of shield! They explained that this is why they seem to make less smell

But so you say you were then able to do the curing safely? Did you notice any improvement? I knew you could rehydrate the ganja but I knew the curing process was screwed at that point anyway.... That was my question! And then what did you do? Did you burp the jars? Like nothing had happened?

you’ll be fine i use them sometimes when i overdried something doesnt hurt anything
But more than anything, I don't understand on what basis it ruins them... as I said above, the fact that it reduces odor is only a good thing since it would seem to be related to the fact that they preserve the terpenes and create a sort of shield that seems to reduce odor! But I don't know anything else... some people say that ganja with boveda tastes like acetone

those people have never tasted acetone its not an ideal way to cure and boveda doesnt recommend curing with their products either but i regularly overdry my fluff for ethanol washes and sometimes when i’m out of weed i put some bovedas with the overdried fluff to make it smokeable and it works for me. i sometimes get a smell of brewing yeast when i open the jars and a little bit of air buildup escapes almost like its fermenting and thats fine.

I believe that a good drying is better than a cure! Once I hit the 62 rh I stopped burping. I only burp for the first week or if the RH is too high, I'll take the buds out and let them air out. MIGHT do 2 weeks if the RH isn't staying consistent

The buds turned out great after! Turned out like all the rest. Everyone else seemed to like it as well. Personally I'll be doing it again if needed!

My best buds are the ones I find on the floor a month later.

I was going to PM you some of my trade secrets but your messenger is turned off.

Alright thank you so much for the help brother! I'm waiting for the napkin talk because I'm noticing that very slowly it's increasing the humidity inside! Let's see if I can get it to at least 58! I hope I'm as lucky as you are
