Why use GH micro in flower? 5-0-1.

Aren’t you supposed to cut out the nitrogen in flower? Okay the schedule says to cut out the grow during flower but not the micro. Why? It’s quite high in nitrogen isn’t it?

Does anyone have a good simple GH trio hydro schedule that produces frosty buds? I just do 1:1:1 in veg, at like 700 PPM. Leave it at that let it eat add same 1:1:1 to 700ppm and then flower I basically do same thing but like 1.5 1.5 1.5 1000ppm and then I cut out the grow. But why not the micro?

I've used GH trio, and my dad switched back to it.

Long story short, you don't have to FULLY cut out nitrogen in flower, but it's a good idea to reduce it. An example is some people run that 19-4-23 stuff seed to chop with no issues; by all accounts that seems like way too much nitrogen in flower. Long short short again, lol, the plants take what they need when they need it, as long as you make it available to them. He even says he gets better results keeping the Gro included until harvest, using barely 1/2tsp for a 3 or 5gal reservoir but still using all three all the time, and not cutting any out.

The GH Flora series is meant to be used as 3-2-1 parts in veg and 1-2-3 parts for bloom. Some people skip the Gro during flower. That's opinion. I have run side by sides and I have found that using the Gro until week 6 flower of a 9 week strain is optimal for yield and quality, preventing the plant from fading too soon.

Micro contains the secondary and micronutrients that are essential for plant growth. It is kept even throughout veg and bloom at two parts. I would highly recommend NOT culling the Micro.

GH actually changed the flora feed schedule a year or so ago; it's moved much closer to 1:1:1

Several different ways to run gh 3 part. I usually run a 2-2-2 early bloom then 2-1-3 then 1-0-3 late flower. Switched to gh florapro dry tho so much cheaper.

If you look at the amount of N in the popular 2-part formulas these days, there is actually quite a bit during flower. N is a major driver of bud growth during flower-the idea to cut N during flower has been pretty well debunked, BUT, that's a separate issue from reducing EC in general towards the end of flower, since the plants are simply not using as many nutrients at that stage. "Based on the results of this study, we recommend providing plants with a nutrient solution containing N and P at approximately 194 and 59 mg L–1, respectively, to achieve maximal inflorescence yield."

If you play around with nutrient calculators, you'll find that's quite a bit of N, even in terms of higher EC use with 2 part nutrient formulas. On the other hand, the P recommended is pretty much in line with the 2 part formulas.
