Hayes: Putin's Biggest Fear May Be The One Thing He Can't Lie About

Chris Hayes on the “stunning” number of estimated Russian casualties in just two weeks: “This might be one of the things that Vladimir Putin fears most. Because no amount of propaganda, no amount of state media can lie to you about whether your son is dead or alive.”

i'd like to see the Ukrains get the migs and start using them to run missions into russia. bomb the fucking convoys on the way to the border, bomb storage facilities where military supplies are stored, bomb oil storage facilities...take the fight to putin...and shove it down his fucking throat
I think the Mig situation is FKD already, This should have been done on the hush hush and not publicized and debated in the media, and secondly I don't think 15 Mig 29's would last a week, the one thing that hasn't been a total bust concerning Russian equipment is the S400 AA system and it is deployed all over Ukraine,I've already read the obituary of a very popular Ukranian Lt. Colonel whose plane was downed by this system. The Migs could cause some trouble for a bit,but now that it's all been exposed for everyone to see I don't see it as a game changer.Putin and his staff are so FKN stupid, they should have dropped airborne West of LVIV to interdict supplies going to the East and they wouldn't have suffered the devastating losses of armor they are incurring, but once again I'm glad they FKD that up also.

I imagine the Russian storyline is Ukraine did it ….. this is really shedding light on how much propaganda can sway the masses.
Check out this crazy shit.

Ukrainian son told Russian dad about the invasion. This was his response

Looks familiar doesn't it? That is the power of disinformation and why an independent media commission should regulate it. There should be a price for broadcasting lies and promoting needless social division for profit. No, I'm not talking about what Putin did, but more what we used to have here, news was always curated by editors and producers, but they were independent and not deliberately creating and exacerbating existing social divisions for no purpose other than profit. The means of mass communication are important and as with most other things a balance must be reached between freedom and regulation. The current system is dividing society for no real reason while spewing lies and misinformation that is killing thousands of Americans a day now and it has killed hundreds of thousands more, this is unacceptable.

S400 can be targeted but you need a standalone radar scanning plane that relays its data to the attacking planes.
This way tge s400just sees one radar blip 400km away until bay doors open with their payload.

Ive uploaded a vid of a simulation before. But even if the russians just send like 15 jets in a group, they will probably go through the Ukraine's stock fast.

NATO inherited a lot of those too and can resupply while the systems are replaced by better western ones, which they are. The Russians can't operate low down, have few smart bombs and can only bomb like WW2 only worse, from high altitude over friendly territory. Singers make operating tactical air over ground you do not firmly control is too dangerous. They are only good for killing civilians because cities are all they can hit from high altitude, they are useless for killing soldiers.

The average Russian does not speak English and can't consume the same data you and I can.... Within Russia, Putin still wins the fight for heart and mind. Even with propaganda.

Yep, but there will be lot's of western published Russian newspapers in Ukraine someone will see to that there are plenty in their areas, plus all you need is one of their captured radios hooked up to a cellphone to have a radio station on their military channels, the troops are bored and news starved in the rear and they will be playing popular music too. It will also drown out their communications and these radios are in most of their equipment. Everybody he sends to Ukraine will be infected with the truth and will be away from their media for a spell, isolated.

Then there all those Russian language stations that will be directionally broadcasting into Belarus on three sides, which is why they are occupied by Russian troops and ripe for revolution, with some covert help of course. The Russians are attacking Kyiv from Belarus, what do you think would happen if they had revolution at their backs (made worse by propaganda and false reports on their radios) and their supplies were cut?

i wonder how hard it would be to supply some local russian journalist with a couple of good printers and reams of paper? they could write counter stories, that tell the truth, from a local perspective, and have teams that just drop them off inconspicuously at random locations? would russians believe it? maybe, if they were written by russians, with a russian viewpoint, written to explain those nagging inconsistencies that always come with propaganda...?

There are plenty of Russian language papers in the EU and more in Ukraine and with help they can publish, even sending their shit to Poland via the internet for printing. Most are published by expatriate Russians. Their military radios are the best way to reach them IMHO and ordinary citizens can get one of their radios, wire the mic to a cell phone and broadcast hours of programming downloaded from the Ukrainian government in Russian language. Citizens can do this all over the place and on all channels, they can even live stream from a phone directly to the radio and have many different channels with popular music all designed to tell the truth that they can see around them. That is why it will be so devastatingly effective, it tells the truth that they suspect and they can verify by their own experiences. Coupled with surrender offers of good treatment and some perks, it could lead to mass surrenders or at least shitty moral. The troops will be bored and news starved.

War has been described as long periods of boredom and intense periods of extreme excitement!

Just broadcasting the streaming BBC news Russian service on their military channels in Ukraine would have a big impact, they are not getting any news, not even from home, they don't even get weather forecasts, important if you are outside all the time.
