well usually autos flower after 20-30 days and topping will stunt your grow for a week. using LST you will get all the braches you had with topping plus a main branch that will give birth to 2 more. then when you flower starts you will get a strech with all of those branches and get a lot more weed than if you did a top

As a new grower it's best to just let it grow and try to keep it healthy to harvest. For a new grower that alone is often a task.

Also photoperiod plants are a better choice for new growers. They'll give you a better opportunity to veg the plant, fix any issues and give a better yield.

It's not a waste to train plants when they are healthy and grown properly.

@dstantler As mentioned it looks more purple than black. Could just be how that strain grows.
Sorry i misspoke. The original picture is red kusch. I just took 3 more pics. The 2 tall ones are red kusch and short one is lemon. I topped all three

Btw thank you everyone for the advice. To be transparent, ive only ever even smoked once. Im 48 yrs old and i suffer a lot of pains (theres a point to this haha) my doc (who is also a friend) recommended canabis for it since the medication is so costly.

So i did some computer repair work to trade for a 4x4x8 tent, 2 mars hydro ts600 grow lights, humidifier, clip fan, and temp/humidity gauge, fox farm soil, and the 3 fox farm nutrient bottles.

Thought i should include that information in case i have the wrong stuff.

doesn't matter. how much do you know about growing? planing to repot them in bigger pots and doing any LST?
I didnt plan to repot them but if i should then i will. I ran out of space in the tent but spring is coming so i can move my basil and artichoke plants outaide soon to free up space. Sorry but i dont know what doing LST means.

LowStressTreninng its just bending the plant soo the lower branches are not in the shade of upper ones. when the lower ones get a stronger light they grow as strong as the main middle one.that way you can get a lot more of bud sites

Thank you. And yes i can see this is a great community. These days you take a chance of getting too many rude snowflakes that are annoyed with new people (for various things). This however has been a great experience. Im a metalhead musician so i can tolerate irritation (my listeners can get touchy these days haha) but this time in here i see patience that i appeeciate.

McShnutz hit it. Read, read, read. YouTube leaves a lot to be desired, too many fools claiming they are a "Master" grower, then show tall spindly, nasty plants that even a novice could beat. The search function can be your friend. You can blow thru hours searching, looking at pics, and reading. If in doubt, ask a question, but have a little thick skin, some on here can be a bit brutal. You'll soon find out what works for you, what works for others, may not work in your situation. Don't get discouraged, some people do. It won't take long, and you'll have the confidence to get a decent crop in.
Keep at it, and you'll be rewarded in the end, it's not hard, some people make it way harder than it really is.
