I've got my quaint little house on 3 acres out in the country. 7 more years and it's paid off!!!!!!!!!! As a "Thank You" my company pays my mortgage, being an "original" employee with 22 years in has its perks. From 2 guys and a Ford Storage Van, to 85 employees, 110,000 Sq Ft facility with damn near every machine you'd ever need, and all paid off.
Now to just get some work filtering back in, we are now feeling the effects of "Covid" because there isn't a lot of work out for bid.

The housing situation in the US is not good.
No it isnt. Got lucky and bought toward the end of 2018 before things got out of control.
Prior we were payin over 2k a month for a two bedroom apt. I feel for anyone renting or looking to buy these days.

Houses on my street were going for an average of $135,000 when I moved in. Now everything is $450,000+. I wish I would have grabbed a couple more. The neighborhood was pretty seedy at the time but due to gentrification all the riff raff was forced out and are now living in tents on the sidewalks.

I'm getting tired of all the flyers left on my door and junk mail from people offering to buy my home for cash.
