I mix mine with coffee, Gatorade or water. I've never had a problem in reduced effects. I take a fairly substantial dosage of tincture at 4-6 hour intervals and do not drink booze so the taste really throws me off. Mixed in with coffee and Gatorade I can barely taste it. Water I can tell it's there but it's not bad.
I've gotten used to mixing it. In coffee it's not even noticable. I might try the glycerin though just for a test. I've only recently this year began to do tincture and it's quickly become my favorite way to medicate. I need to find a better way, or more accurate way to decarb so that I know I'm maximizing my potency. I'm trying to get a decarb machine but first I'm saving up for a new 5*5 tent. My wife really likes the tincture as well as it allows her to take medicine to work and dose without odor. You could try (making or buying) tincture that's made with glycerin instead of alcohol.
There are ways. No one's kitchen oven is accurate enough to nail it. That's why I suggested cast iron skillets to hold the temperature. Thanks for the suggestion. My oven can't seem to hold a steady temp very well. My cheap ass toaster oven seems to do much better based on the oven thermometer I've tried. I'll try the mason jar trick but on its side in the toaster oven on a damp towel maybe. That might be an improvement over the foil packet I've been doing. Thanks again for the idea.

I've done sous vide but it's such a pita for just a small amount to decarb.
