What week is a good time to start watering the whole pot and getting runoff? Im in 3 gallon air pot with organic soil and autoflowers. Right now im at 1 week 1 day. Still watering just a ring around the stem. Let me know guys its my first grow and watering is my biggest issue. Lol when and how much gets stressful!

just water the whole pot and wait till its almost dry. overwatering is not watering too much mostly, its watering too often. if your medium is well aerated it’ll not get waterlogged so you can not overwater by giving too much water at once.

and runoff in organics is not really needed. youre only gonna leach out organic material and stuff. just water till you get 5% and if the medium soaks it back up i a couple of hours dont even bother with dumping it out.

looking healthy tho, keep up the good work!

What I did last run and it worked very well.. I premixed my organic soil, I moistened it to where it was spongy but not over watery.. I them planted the seedling direct and just let that baby go for a few weeks without watering her at all.. Now they are getting massive and I feel this year I had faster veg growth so far.

Edit.. I forgot to say I started in 7 gallon pots.

If it's peat-based soil you probably don't want to let any part of it dry out completely, it can get hydrophobic and be difficult to rehydrate. Better to water the whole surface area from the beginning, vs only a small area in the middle. Or bottom-water and remove whatever doesn't get sucked up after 30 mins or so.

Thanks for the info!

I keep my soil moist at all times, since they are little seedlings I water the whole pot, because microbes in the pot need the moisture to live. I would recommend you to get to know your pot and soil, how much water it can take before run off, water slowly and try to avoid run off.
