Drying humidity fluctuation issue

Hey growmiez

need some help here please.

Harvested my plant 12 hours ago and hanged it upside down in a 4x2 tent with low air flow trying to maintain temp/rh.
i have one of these smart hygrometer's that provides you a chart of the temp/rh for the last 12 hours and i kept my temp between 18c-21c i have an Air conditioner so no issues with the temp.
the Relative Humidity AKA RH is another story I can't control it or maintain it at 55%.
it had been fluctuating between 49% - 65% but most the time it was within the 50s.
I chopped the plant actually I pulled it up from the medium from the roots an clipped most of the root ball and hanged it upside down in a 4x2 tent with an oscillating small fan in the bottom of the tent air is not blowing directly into the palnt.
and a 4" inline Cfm with a filter positioned outside the tent with the duct sucking the air from the top hole.
Saw this setup from the YouTube channel from seed to harvest ironically i had the exact tent.
where I live the RH is always high and i have a function in my A/C unit "Dry mode" it keeps the RH at 50% usually.
I just woke up and I'm not sure about the smell it was pungent before I went to bed and now it's not as strong as 12 hours ago and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
One more thing, there is an air purifier unit outside of the tent like 2 foot away.

It is my first time drying a full plant.

did an experiment prior to harvest i dried couple of buds and the ones who gave the best end product was dried in the bathroom with the rh 65% at least.

the ones I dried in 55%rh smelled like hay.

It's what everyone recommends 60/60 .But the best smelling dry I had was almost 70 percent humidity ,but they were more airy buds and still hung for 14 days.It was conditioned air in my basement.

The plant will be funky from u handling it and cutting it 1. So the smell well get better fast that's normal. Also, you chopped whole plant and hung upside down, less worry about it drying to fast that way. All that material will slow the dry down for you, you'll be fine 2. I wet trim and hang manicured sticks so I don't have to deal with crumble and folded up leaves once dry. Wait till the buds feel dry and crispy on outside and the sticks make a lil cracking noise when u bend em and jar it up. If the sticks snap you waited to long

Im doing 65 temp 65-70%RH and I do believe this works best for this strain as I had dried couple of buds prior to harvest and found that high humidity gave me the dank bud, the other bud i dried it 55%rh it shranked and no smell.

Thanks for the advice, should I cut the the plant?

what do you advise if it's not a bother?

Good advice from everyone here.
Only thing I can add is for a wet trim,
I like to trim down sticks so they’ll fit in the jar. Keeping them on the stem will help slow the cure and make them
Easy to handle.
I take em off the stems as I consume them.
