1st time grow. Barney's Farms' LSD. Started thread on flowering day 67. Comments welcome.

Setup:
Grow tent size: 50cm x 50cm x 100cm.
Generic grow LED from China: 136W (draws 44W of electricity)

Grow summary up to day 67:
Soil grow, transplanted twice, final pot size 10 litres.
Topped at 5th node and removed bottom set of branches.
Did not defoliate.
Did not add any fertilizer until the plant was 10 weeks old.
Switched to 12/12 when the plant was 22 days old.
Watered every 6 days.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. When should I harvest?

Flowering day 72 (10 weeks and 2 days):
Watered and added nutes.
Looked under a magnifier. No amber trichomes on buds. I think I'm going to harvest when there is around 20% of amber trichomes on the buds. Probably going to be another month or something.

Looks like nice buds there... But day 72 of flowering with a month to go? Isn't lsd a 9 week STRAIN?
 
Yeah, it's supposed to be. I don't know why my plant is taking so long. Maybe I'll just harvest when I see a spot of amber trichomes on the buds, just in case. There's quite a few amber trichs already, but they're all on the leaves and I'm supposed to ignore them.

I have decided not to wait any longer and start harvesting now.

Due to limited space, I harvested the top half of the plant. I will harvest the rest once this 1st batch has dried.


1st Harvest. 11 Weeks into 12/12

I kept the fan leaves on while drying. My previous grows dried a bit too quickly (less than 5 days). This is despite having a relative humidity of 52% in the drying room. I don't know if not removing the fan leaves will have any effect on the speed of drying, but it's worth a try. 7-10 days drying would be ideal.

This is how the plant looks now:

Let them go, keep an eye on them. All cloudy to 50% or70% amber with some ckoudy, and you will be very happy, scope half way down colas for best read on plant, tops get lights, wind and fingers and squashed when leaning over them. Causes more amber on tips than plant really has. Pick biggest cola and find center. You wont harvest early this way and will have great smoke. Best of luck send pics at chop and smoke report. Can harvest tops first mids then lowers if you want to chop badly. But this gives you smoke and option to try to reveg her if killer.

You will gain weight and staying power and potency. Plus after cure it will break down better than younger plant. Buds will have a golden hue to them in most cases, l dont scope or count days, l count on 90 day flower or longer, unless l fuck up, then l still try to push as long as l can, l cant grow enough in a meter 2d to supply my crew, fuck they smoke more than l do. And thats something wild in my opinion. Bc l smoke alot. Dont stress, get a bigger light so you can grow more then cut some early some with all cloudy and some ambers and 50 % amber and 70% amber and test it on people, 1 toke from each, 20 minutes apart. Do a big lung filler from each, see which way makes you say yeah this is how lm growing it from now on, might be clear trics and racy high that you like best. Who knows, maybe ambers will put you down on the couch. I like that! Yup! Total Duh! Homer Simpson high, cant beat it. And most cut on clock, thats why growing own is best of all. No real clock like a business. Needs another week or two or month and you can. Big growers cant. Craft cannabis is best imo. Plant in middle of tent was cut back to nothing before flower, took 30 cuts but all died. Was pathetic looking 6 branch maybe 10 inches tall, in 8 gal nursery pot. Most in tent are 5g and 8g front middle is 1g fruittree in 10g fabric l think. The little one front and center is same age as younger canna plants, but think l might of broke taproot first uppot. Had to veg longer to get it up in size to flower, l flip at 30 days bc 60 day veg they take over tent and get way too tall think l might do 45 day veg next time. And fewer plants. Last flower of front center strain l had 3.5 ft colas, one to right of it same strain. Urinal cake from Thug Pug genetics. Put in flower tent 10 to 15 days ago might be a bit longer now. Center and front left Lit farms. Center is georgia runtz front left is expresso cheesecake, not impressed put down 10 seeds 1 male and 1 female sprouted. I do well sprouting seeds usually. Every thug popped but one, l think. Runtz gave 9 from 12 seeds not too bad as a seedling croaked on me. Waiting for front center to sex, if male leaving in and making my own fire. Have expresso ch cake male in flower under 24hr light, moved him as soon as l was sure he was a he. Liking thugs gear better and should be fucken awesome for price they charge. Back three pugs are wedding poop. Very impressed with strain, high thc and can smoke it for months on end and get high off every toke, and miss it when its gone bc not much compares to it. Going to keep it around for awhile yet. Think crossing with urinal cake will bring production up and high for the urinal cake, only male was wed poop in last years outdoor, so should be dad. 14 seeds off a few too many plants. 11 alive and well. 2 pure seeds from each thug strain on hold in case something happens. Cant be too sure of self. I rambled enough. Grow often grow well grow your own.20220511_024757.jpg
 
Well, I know how early harvests feel like, I've done enough of them. :lol::wall: I don't like the racy feeling.
I think week 11 is a mid-harvest, I don't know. The trichomes look mostly cloudy on it.
I've never had a late harvest as you've described.

First three weeks of 12x12 are still considered veg. Well transition, l try to feed veg during this, until flowers cap off 180 degrees with hairs and no leaves in it. Can take 3 weeks or longer if sativa heavy. If 60 day strain add 3 weeks. Plant below bad pic but this is starting countdown. Think they might be in flower tent longer than l remember. 21 days in looking at it to me. 16522634067531707103164741156971.jpg
 
Count on 90 day flower, anything earlier you wont be dissapointed. Some sativas take 120 to 150 days to fully flower out. Dont count first hairs as flowering, wait for this^^^^^^^^^
Done too many early harvests myself, back in prohibition you could get wet hydro for 10 ca a gram. Nobody sells wet weed now. Kinda nice 65 days was pull down day. Never know whos watching. Lol!

Ouch! 24 days how long of veg? ok add that to 65 day flower and your still chopping day 89, a day of grace, lol. 90 days from flip is what l mean to say. If l didnt say in post the intention was there, sorry english is my only language. Most seeds say 60 to 65 days of flower, l have strain good to go in 57 days doesnt mean its done. Imo! 85 days is right in sweet spot imo! From flip. Tell ppl 90 and they chop a week early, so what its better than 65 day run. At least the plant can express itself more. But sativas can go 120 to 150 days from flip. Cant imagine flowering plants for 5 months but know it can happen. Why l stay away from landrace strains, pure sativa is great but not for someone who smokes and feeds as many weed as l do. 3 that live here and a few outside of home. Chop it when you want doesnt bother me but if you try this you wont chop early anymore. Up to you, take this any way you want. Ive tested and put many grows down, 90 days from flip is good practice.

I vegged for 22 days. I flipped early to keep the plant short.
I will definitely wait until day 90 from flip (which is only two weeks away, no biggie). Then inspect the trichomes and make a decision whether to chop or keep going.

Where do you check? Half way down cola gives best read. How long did she take to start shooting hairs? Mine were 30 days veg approx and slow moving into flower, like they veg bc they want to. My veg 24hr so plants flip quickly, 12 to 15 days to cap off. If a mature expressed plant, find about 40 days veg brings maturation. Better to let them express themselves then flower. Flip is faster and growth is too.
