growing in clay soil

i would make sure to not add so much in my mix i am just looking to create some nice soil where they could grow easily
Just research the difference in clay soil vs quality soil. Not nutrients like manure but what's in dirt that is natural to the environment and helps life grow. Then add that to the clay soil. Clay soil is compact so aeration will be a must. Biochar and rice hulls would suffice. There mineral rocks azomite has over 60 minerals either the rock dust, or granular. Soil has humic and fulvic acid ( I use granular humic and a soluble fulvic ). As you said worm castings, is a must. Also green sand, this takes like over a year to start breaking down but if you're reusing soil it helps loosen soil, improve moisture retention, soften hard water, increase root growth, with 20 to 30 trace minerals while being high in iron, potassium, and magnesium. As mentioned gypsum will help aeration however with biochar and rice hulls that shouldnt be needed. Gypsum will give calcium without effecting soil ph however using worm castings and tap you'll have enough calcium. Plus other things added will contain small amounts of calcium. Also look up amendments that wont burn plants like worm castings and humic acid.

Not saying you'll never need gypsum I have a couple bags just incase its needed. Good luck bud

I've used or used quite a few different amendments and organic means of waterings. Teas, worm juice, fish poo etc. Plus others not pictured

That's cool you'll just have to keep buying it. Got the house I live in with my wife's job, so cant neccesarily dig up a bunch of holes. My new soil is happy frog and ocean forest. Once used I store in a plastic storage bin with holes in the bottom. I'll top with manure and straw keeping it moist. I'll put yard waste and things I may not add alot of to my worm bin like citrus and whole onions. I'll also throw some worms in there. Once that sits for 3 months or so I'll move it to a tumbling composter. There I'll churn adding more organic matter. After 3 months 6 months total or so I'll reuse. Since I don't ph that also allows microbes to reset soil ph. This isn't the right way but may help you out finding your way.

I'll also keep starting soil and transplant soil separate starting soil dont need much nutrient. I'll add worm castings, rock dust, humid acid and a little 444 all purpose if needed
