How to grow feminized photo and auto together? (When is the latest week to switch to 12/12?)

Hi guys.

Currently on my 1st grow
3 autos ( 2 x think different - dutch passion. Banana kush - anesia seeds(freebie))
1x 240w kingbrite with cree leds
1 x 150w Mars ts1000
3x3x6 feet tent.

On my NEXT grow I would like to grow 2 autos (9-10 weeks seed to harvest strain) and 1 photoperiod. However, the 12/12 cycle will harm the auto growth...

Question: Can you delay the 12/12 switch for 9-10weeks from sprout? In those 9-10 weeks my autos would be ready and I could switch to 12/12 and flower my photo - best of both worlds.

Is this possible? Any photo strains you recommend that I could grow for 9-10 weeks before switching to 12/12?

My BIGGEST concern is overcrowding... On the other hand I could top and Fim the crap out the photo

Easy , I run perpetual in similar manner.

Autos will be fine under normal ( 18/6 0r 20/4 - etc. ) keep light cycle like this and photo will Veg just fine for that 8-9 weeks .
Then , if you flip the photo ….. 12/12 will not impact auto much as it is last stages anyways ( if you timed it right ).

I mess around with autos all the time -

Sometimes I run them as intended under 18/6 - 20/4 up to week 6-7 ( bloom ) then cycle down at 12/12.
It’s in bloom anyways so results are negligible since plant is in last couple weeks. And I still let them take as long as needed to finish.
So any blooming plants I have in there with them is still blooming.

So you can STILL have time to structure the photoperiod plant ( topping / LST / train ) while growing under the longer auto cycle upfront.

Thanks for the detailed answer!!! Thats all I needed to hear. Now time to stop daydreaming about my next grow and back to my current one.

I'm treating my autos like photos, giving them a "veg" period also. And my Mimosa Cake Auto from Gorilla seeds is enormous, for an auto.

Wait... are you "choosing" to veg them for longer? From my understanding autos flower when they flower.
What exatcly did you mean by " treating autos like photos" - which aspects?

When I read your reply the first time, completely misunderstood what you meant.

Thanks!

I give them the first month to 6 weeks at 18&6, then, if I'm needing room I'll throw them into the flower tent at 12&12 to finish them out. When I get home tonight I'll get a shot of them. I don't feed them lightly, I don't baby them beyond true leaves. If they can't make it, they can't make it. I'll pull another clone, pop another seed.

That's exactly how I feel about autos too. I top them, transplant them and if they want to act up I'll cull the plant and start another one that has stronger genetics. I only get 4 plants, I don't have space and time for weak plants. Even my expensive auto seeds are only 10 bucks a seed, it's a lot cheaper to kill it and move on with something stronger. Photos, I'm a little bit more patient with but not a whole lot. They get second chances but weak ass plants don't last long. The issue you'll have is vegging a plant for 8-10 weeks and then flipping in a 6' tall tent will be tricky with height no matter how you train it. You might want to veg a mother plant out and try cutting clones off it at 6 weeks to grow when your autos finish up. You'd have a bit of a lull in the switch that way as the clones would need a little veg time but their height would be way more manageable and you could run a couple of them as a scrog to keep it simple. It's just one way to try.

I'm doing the same thing although was thinking 14 hours on. Am I correct? Thanks for any input. My autos are about 6 weeks ahead of the photo. I can't upload pics for some reason

I just got done doing this I didn’t have any problems I vegged my plants for 60 days and then flipped them the autos were already well into their stuff when I did flip it I didn’t really notice any difference but I’ve only grown autos a few times
