SCROG question

Ugh…not the answer I wanted, but up goes the net tomorrow I guess. I’m worried about whether or not I will run into height constraints what with this carpet of giant colas I’m going to be growing

Trust me, get all of that other stuff out of your tent. Veg for 8 weeks, train and tie back all the leaders during stretch. Lollipop your bottoms up near the net during week 3-4 of flower. It takes every day train for the first 3-4 weeks after the flip.. it will be well worth it.

He doesn't have the room for that. He needs to supecrop, and tie back the leaders.
You may be right. I just saw the 4 plants and I didn't notice the smaller weed plants. I thought all of that was some kind of vegetables. Still, there's plenty of canopy space and none of the plants are tall enough to where they really need to be supercropped. It looks like they can veg for at least another week or two. As someone who just overgrew the hell out my tent and had to turn my lights way down, I'm weary of raising the net any higher than needed.

I think the ideal scrog placement is where a full powered light hits vegging par numbers at the net level, and then flowering numbers above in the colas area. The key is knowing when to stop tucking everything towards the end of the stretch to get just enough vertical branching to stack nice colas without hitting the danger zone.

The other plants are going outside this weekend. I’m going to shorten the distance between pots to get them all centered better and then see where that puts me.

I’m not sure why Ron told you to do either of those things. In my experience my tent would be filled if I flipped those now.

I found Scrogging to be a PITA in a tent...I'm a fan of spinning my plants around Incase there's something you may miss on the other side (mold, pests, hermies). People grow too many plants in these small tents...id do 4 2 gal hempy buckets in a tent that size and fill it up but still be able to move them around. Just my worthless 2 cents.

More plants equal a quicker veg. Two plants take forever to fill a 4x4. It also makes sense to have more plants when you're pheno hunting.

I'm not sure why someone would scrog outside of a tent. Height constraints is the reason I do it. I've always scrogged in a tent with typically 6 plants per 4x4 plot. Usually it works out pretty good.
