Sterile knife, cut across node in an angle. Put into cup of distilled right away. Put into soaked Jiffy Pallets that had soaked for a couple hours in distilled water. Sprayed the dome with diluted peroxide/distilled water (.75ml/gal).

Wish me luck. Should stay above 72F and 50%RH ambient. Is hot where it is at, can get 95F. 23w CFL.

Hello.

I was out of funds for supplies for now, I was behind schedule as well. I realized I still had the dome and decided to give cloning another try.

Was going to buy everything to clone but then decided to see how this goes incase I take much longer to succeed. Never cloned before. Maybe these will pull through.

Will try them sometime, though I was hoping to learn how to clone with the bare minimum. I seen it done in front of me without ANYTHING. I was like, come on! I can do this too with extra effort lol.

You will be fine
Don’t open the dome or check them other than moisture on dome for a week
Keep that light at least a foot above them
You don’t need a lot

I think that is one of the factors that went wrong the one lst time I ever tried. Then, acclimate slowly when root tips emerge.

The light is about 4”. Raised it to like 7 or 8” away which is about the highest I can for where it is at. Not many options to setup as it is in a shed pretty much. I could point light away, but read the clones do need some light, just not too much. Clones are still perking up, not wilting.

Figured they would like the hot humid enviorment. Used peroxide a little to avoid mold like last time.

Going at least 3 days without opening the dome. Picked the shed for high temps and humidity. One of them slid a little and is touching the other. Ugh lol. I know I could move it but I want to apply the tactic of never opening it for at least 3 days to respray or check. No hormones used so want to get the few things I am doing, to get them right lol.

Last time I did this, the mold went out of control. How would you clean them off if they get really moldy? I am not watering the plant with that, just the dome. I thought if it did not harm the plants that it would help this time, specially being in a more mold friendly area this time.

Idk what the others think about it but I don't ever spray them I find there's more than enough humidity from just the clones/plugs inside the propagator.

I keep clones max humid initially but 2nd day I open the vent a touch and jam a plant ID stake under the lid just enough to let air circulate through its still 80/85% humidity it's still good for clones but unlikely to cause problems with mould.

The RH% where it is at, drifts a lot. On average, with everyones routines, they all have in common to spend about 1 to 7 days in the closed dome.

Usually when they start acclimating, by then they can see some roots sticking out. I can only hope I see that v.s none lol.

Just looking to get to survival and think the cold temps or too much air blowing at it was part of the issue.

I am liking the idea that they want to grow and will clone as easily as they sprout from seed lol that would make this more fun.

After all, this is only my 2nd time cloning. 3rd actually, the 2nd time was just one, from a 1 month old plant, no dome, from the top of plant, too much air flowing past it, rollercoaster temps and RH% lol. 3rd times a charm though right? lol

My guess you keep opening and closing the lid
Mold spores are everywhere
Trick is don’t give them optimal conditions to sprout

1st time yes and that is where this dome came from. Realized I had it and gave it another go, this time without opening for at least 3 days.

The 1st time was a friends house so I had no control over monitoring, only once a day or two days. Moved it a lot, put it into a green house, back to a room where light was turned off by someone not knowing to keep it on. Hot mess lol.

Second time was just described and now here we are. Thats why I put .75 ml/gal peroxide for just the dome. Its janky design so it is bound to have humidity sucked out of the cracks, thought some spraying would help. The pallets would get distilled when I water them in a few days or a couple.

Wow is that the same as Hydrogaurd? I have Hydrogaurd already, is that the same stuff just more pricey? Was hating the idea of 33$ every 6 months. Whoops I just checked, that was only 8fl/oz.

Did not use because nutrients arent doing much, but as you may of helped me realize, the treatment eats mold. I wanted a clean enviorment in the dome this time so I used peroxide instead since it does same thing without the nutes which don’t matter right now I read.

I had the mold on the leaves and stem though not below into the puck, but did spread there eventually, so thought the hydrogaurd wasn’t needed.

Update, I am about to open lid later today and spray them with 1ml/gal of distilled mixed w/ baking soda.

I read that it kills mold and safe to spray on plants. Will remove lower foliage next time, one thing I missed this time.

One leaf on two of them have a little mold that I will remove. Spraying the inside of dome as it dried up and is part of the steps of the guide I am following from Dr mj coco.

Why are the leaves sagging? I don’t call this wilting though. Is 95F on the meter okay for a maximum temp just a few hours of that hottest part of the day?

Will take more cuttings and try different tactics I.E aero cloners, cup of water set aside, tent with humidity and heat pads and ect.

Tonight will mark the 6th day. What y’all think will happen in a few days, roots? Are things looking ok? Stems looking good still?

Will put dome right back on and wait 3 days and if they show roots, will right away start opening holes little by little.
