Pelosi VS China

If Taiwan fell into conflict, what impact would it have on the chip market, care to guess? Not a gotcha, I don't know the numbers.
My guess is if they were unable to make them the market would crash on their (Taiwan) chips. Which is why it is smart to have us bring the manufacturing of them home. I am not sure where everywhere they are being manufactured, but other countries would likely see their companies stocks rise.

As for (assuming what you are talking about with Pelosi's husband actually being invested in them is not bullshit) what stocks he owns in this market, there are a lot of companies, and without a actual list of what he owned and when he got them (as well as if it is unusual purchasing (remember rich af, so 'big' numbers are relative) to say if it was in anyway corrupt or not.

The pelosi husband stuff is generally accurate, sort of is what it is, I would find it incredibly hard to believe he doesn't act on inside info...but I would argue so what and what does it matter. His inside info isn't really that secret, but yes, he does make trades around when decisions get made. Everyone does because legislation effects stocks. I'm sure he can get better info than the rest...but it's not like a whole bunch of other people don't know what is coming down the pipe and what will pass, congress involves a boatload of people.

If it isn't secret and decisions are being made by the best investors, I am not sure if it would look that much different, which makes the whole conspiracy stuff so easy to sell. I don't know the guy one way or the other, or even looked at his trading history or anything of the sort, but find it hard to buy into this kind of stuff after the last decade of right wing propagandists trying like hell to spread anything and everything they can about Pelosi (and anyone else with power in the Democratic party) unless there are actual reporting done on it or indictments.

Mr. Pelosi invested over a million in the semiconductor industry before the bill including 70billion support for that industry. And he dumped more, taking a big loss:

If anything, it’s good material to spin. The suggestion Mrs. Pelosi is trying to trigger ww3 to make money on chips is of course completely ludicrous. Putting aside the cynicism, there’s no guarantee it would a profitable decision.

The world, including China, can at this moment anyway, not do without those chip factories in Taiwan. China can’t easily do without the 50% of Taiwanese graduates who work in China either, they need their brains. People heavily underestimate the knowledge and skills and technology required to make the semiconductors Taiwan makes. It’s not like Samsung making knockoff iPhones, it’s like competing with NASA. There’s only one company in the world that makes the $200-300mil machines required to make today’s advanced chips as Taiwan does, ASML, and there’s only one country they explicitly don’t sell to: China. Since it’s pretty much impossible to conquer Taiwan by force while leaving the factories and supply chain intact, China would have to be willing to economically self-destruct, nobody would be hurt more than China. Putin didn’t care about that but I don’t think China is inspired by Russia‘s current situation. China is catching up, and Taiwan is at serious risk, but not today, nor next month.

China won't do shit
That sums it up. They can flex all they want, they’re not going to risk what they built up over the past decades, the very source of their power.

I am unable to open Reuters for some reason, but if I am getting the timeline right, he sold after the senate advanced the bill (a couple weeks ago), but before the house passed it?

That doesn't take insider trading to know that it is worth making the trade if you are paying attention and heavily invested I wouldn't think.

Lol ,what ? Thats what you took away from me agreeing China won’t do shit ? O dear , face palm .

However are you under the impression China will not make a move against Taiwan ? If you do I whole heartedly disagree… cause that will happen 100% (just not yet ) give it little time .

That's the rub, normal stuff looks pretty suspicious based on who it is. However, it isnt some sort of elite company specific knowledge like people normally think of when it comes to insider trading. There isn't a way for it not to look bad though.

Why is Pelosi going and not Kamala? Was she like saying to Kamala.. , “ you stay home, girl, I got this.
I am almost dead anyway. Just stay home in Oakland and smoke some weed and chill.”

You know, sometimes when somebody says something that makes no sense to me, I ask for an explanation. You gave none. As far as your trying to belittle me, forget it. That's kid stuff. OK, so, I will just assume you are talking your feelings that are not based upon thought. This is what sub-average people do.

Anyway, thanks for the reply and letting me know more about you.
