NYC in general in the 90s-early 2000s commanded the highest black market prices......600/Oz wasn't unheard of.....I was getting the Cuban black aka piff for 400 at the time and it was considered a great deal at that price....sour ran me 500, but I've seen it go for 600....resale prices were insane....I'd get Cuban for 400 and sell it for 600...sour for 500 and resell for 700.....the money flow and prices were unbelievable back in that era.....I've seen ppl drop 800 on an Oz without an argument back then lol
Today I can get Cuban black for 250-300....sour still commands 400 though....if it's legit

Honestly I very rarely find ppl faking the strains they're claiming these days, it was much more common 10-20 years ago.
For instance I was JUST delivered some Mango Haze and stardawg...I got an ounce Mango and an 8th stardawg.....all together it cost me $230 and I smoked the Mango an hour ago and it's definitely the real deal....100% tastes of Mango and haze....I have no doubts the stardawg is official too.
I would have paid damn near double 10 years ago for something that MIGHT be real, but might not, about a 50% chance back then if using someone you don't really know.
About a 90% chance of the real deal today....but the main difference seems to be quality of the grow.

I went to my local dispensary just to get something different than what I have in jars. They have locally grown (there’s a big ol farm in my town you can see from hwy. 12) Nigerian haze. $15 for an ⅛. Don’t look that great but it’s true old school sativa. No ceiling, effects can hang 5 hours. Reminds me of the 70’s. Indica didn’t exist in my world back then. They also had some red Congolese for 90 a half.

I was looking at oldsog hoping to get his ssh s1 but out of stock. He has a papaya ssh cross I was thinking about but not sure if it's worth the 90 bucks.
Probably rather get delicious seeds critical ssh instead.
