There is not a choice about busting Trump for his crimes, but the 2022 election must be won too, to put an end to Trumpism and it's associated terrorism. Trumpism won't go away, but the government can cut the terrorist wing off at the knees, deal the racist wing using hate crime laws and cripple the propaganda wing with media regulation and laws. They can also pack the SCOTUS and get rid of a couple of asshole judges with impeachment inquires to make it all stick. Win first and use Trump to do it, along with family planning rights.

Allowing the country to be blackmailed by a minority of racists and fascists is no way forward. If you win the election, pass the anti terrorism laws and then indict Trump after they come into effect, if required. Give them something real to freak out about, take the fight to them and don't fuck around about it either, win the election first though. By the time their cases get to the SCOTUS it will be partially cleaned out and packed with liberal kids.

most newly enacted laws aren't retroactive, to prevent exactly what you're recommending. because they can do the same shit to us if they get in power...

Keep up Rob, Joe is now the nefarious "Evil Brandon" an evil genius who hoodwinked Moscow Mitch and is gonna fuck Trump for good! I know it clashes with the old propaganda line, but it is what it is, so try to stay current, the republicans are shifting their story like Trump does with the top secret docs he had stashed in his garage.

Our hominid homie does not move the goalposts.

Like Archimedes with enough lever, he gently lifts the goal and then horses the planet over a few yards. It is quite the sleight-of-troll.

Tucker Carlson: Trump ‘obviously’ going to be indicted

Fox News host Tucker Carlson predicted former President Trump will be indicted following a search at his Florida residence last week carried out by the FBI in connection with an investigation into classified information reportedly taken from the White House.

“There’s nothing to see here, that’s the line,” Carlson said on his show Monday, naming a number of elected Republicans who he predicted will “say the same thing when the Biden Justice Department or some other state agency under their influence finally does what you know they’re going to do, and that’s indict Donald Trump.”

“Obviously they’re going to do that,” Carlson continued. “Who knows how, maybe they’ll produce surveillance video from Mar-a-Lago, apparently they’ve already subpoenaed that.”

The Aug. 8 search was authorized by a federal judge, and while many elected Republicans who support Trump have suggested a political motivation, the White House said President Biden was unaware of the search beforehand. No evidence has been presented to suggest Biden had prior knowledge of the search.

Multiple news reports have revealed the search was executed in connection with classified documents reportedly taken from Trump’s White House without authorization. The FBI and Justice Department have not explicitly indicated Trump is the focus of a criminal investigation in the matter and have said little about the probe publicly.

Carlson’s comments are his first since the search warrant was executed a week ago, sparking a firestorm of speculation and political backlash from the former president’s defenders.

The incident has also led to an increase in threats to federal law enforcement in recent days and inspired Attorney General Merrick Garland, in rare public remarks, to push back on his department’s critics.

Trump, who has repeatedly attacked the Justice Department and FBI following the search, said the “temperature has to be brought down in the country,” hours after Steve Doocy, another Fox News host, implored the president to do so on air Monday morning.

Carlson also praised Trump’s call for calm on Monday.

“You can feel it, even Donald Trump feels it. Maybe for the first time in his life, Donald Trump seems sincerely interested in lowering the temperature, not only for his own stake, but for the country’s,” Carlson said. “He’s right. It’s not good. This could get very bad, very fast.”

About the only thing he said of note is the last line. Even (after J6) Trump now knows his words can take the country in a bad direction.

Yep, but if say you win the election because women are mobilized and Trump causes chaos in the GOP, then after January they can enact laws that Joe will sign. Then they can start to put clowns on the domestic terrorist list and busting assholes for hate crimes. By the time it gets to the SCOTUS, Thomas could be driven out with an impeachment inquiry, as could Kavanagh, who Sen Sheldon Whitehouse hard a hardon for about his vetting. They could pack the SCOTUS pretty quick with enough votes in the senate.

I know the polls, but I see them shifting with 80 days to go to the election and the news exploding with Trump's trouble and women freaking out over abortion. It is the perfect storm for the GOP, especially if Trump makes them run on the big lie, threats of revenge against the DOJ and his many enemies. There are so many bombs and traps for the republicans between now and election day, it is absolutely nuts how such a bunch of fucking lunatics and criminals could be polling so high.

Grand juries and judges hear cases based on evidence and juries decide guilt or innocence, it doesn't work against the democrats much, but the republicans are another story altogether, their asses are in the air and exposed. They are a collection of corrupt con artists leading a bunch of bigots and lunatics over a cliff and into the abyss. Mitch was gonna strangle America slowly and quietly, but Donald sucker punched ya in the face, now it's Donald's turn to get a shot to the face, several in fact, along with a kick in the nuts or two.

Yep Donald they are gonna do you just like Vlad, strangle ya slowly and bleed you out over time with a proxy war in Georgia first, then Garland will deliver the coup degras after Georgia is done with yer ass. If the republicans lose the election in November an independent special counsel could be sending a lot of republican congress people to join you in the crowbar hotel. Your base will be exhausted soon enough and if the election is lost for the GOP, they will be dealing with anti terrorism laws and have the FBI on them like stink on shit.

I heard the same shit about Obama in 2012.

Biden is old, but he has gotten shit done and has done a very good job at fixing the nonstop time bombs that Trump left behind, as well as handled every natural disaster as well as any president has done in my lifetime.

With the Republicans running towards crazy town and refusing debates (if that is their stance still), I don't see any better alternatives anytime soon.
There is a long list of potential candidates. I don't understand why people want a man that will be 81 to run for President again. Both his physical and mental capabilities are starting to fail.

Michelle Obama
Gretchen Whitmer
Gavin Newsom
Sherrod Brown
Jay Inslee
And on and on and on

I call bullshit on the mental capacities thing. And the president is not piloting a jet or saving people from burning buildings that require fast twitch muscles to be firing on all cylinders.

I'll take deliberation and great advisors over a cult of personality anyway of the week.

There are a ton of people who could run on the Democratic ticket no question, but the more important thing is to also maintain the house and senate. But right now Biden has proven he can get the job done, and has been doing it well, and outside of the constant age trolling (using his stutter as edited clickbait mostly) there really is no reason for him not to lead the ticket again in 2024.

Judging by Biden's performance and decisions, there is no justification for what you are saying about Biden. I especially like how he has stayed out of the spotlight and let his appointees lead. What a refreshing change from the former guy.

I'm all for a competitive primary and hope for those people and others to compete for the nomination.

I'd like to see Elizabeth Warren on that list too. And Biden. And Harris. For the sake of diversity, how about putting Manchin on the list to represent right-leaning moderates?
