Why the hell are people so focused on re electing an 81 year old man when there are plenty of candidates just as qualified and many half his age that are more in touch with the younger generation.

Get over myself? What the fuck are you talking about? Biden is a dinosaur. It has nothing to do with trump. It's the 21'st century not the 1980's. Look what happened in 2016 when the Democrats nominated Clinton because of the well entrenched machine in the DNC. The only person that could have lost to trump is the person they nominated. It's her turn cost them the election.

I also don't think trump will be the nominee in 2024. They'll have a much younger candidate and that could spell doom for the Democrats and old Joe.

I want the Democrats to win that's why I want them to field a younger candidate.

You guys are just ridiculous. Attacking me over a logical course of action. Some of you sound as loyal to Biden and trumps flock. I'm loyal to the United States of America not one single man.

My life will not change regardless of who wins the Presidency. But I would prefer that the Republicans don't get another bite at the apple. Which could very likely happen if Biden is the nominee.

It's not going to be Biden vs trump. It will be Biden vs some young sharp looking, quick talking candidate that won't be stumbling around at the debate making verbal errors every other sentence.

Now go get over yourself because you said nothing of substance. You're just a Biden supporter that won't let go.
if it ain't broke don't fix it.....Biden is working fine

We need to see more of these reports too.

EPHRATA, Pa. (WHTM) — A man from Ephrata has been arrested after he barricaded himself and allegedly threatened to shoot officers during a dispute in the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 13.

It wasn't over Trump, it was something else. But still, gun toting white men have become all too comfortable with making these kinds of threats and need to be reminded that not all speech is protected.

For now. Things can go south fast once you're that age. My father was 82 and seemed in perfect health. He went to the doctor, they found something, and he was dead in six months.

Like I've said, I have nothing against Biden. I voted for him. I just think it's time to move on. That's my right as a voter.

I just find it odd how some, not you try and label me as some kind of DINO because I want another candidate. I'm not loyal to one man. That's the way things work on the other side.

If something was going to happen, I would happily take Harris over anything that the Republicans have to offer for a POTUS. Outside of Biden bringing the house and senate, she was my top choice for the nomination in 2020.

Then in 2028 the Democrats can have a full field run again for the top spot, which is something I am looking forward to.

As for being called a DINO, or whatnot, I don't fault you for wanting a different candidate, like you said that is your personal choice. But what I do think is nonsense is acting like Biden is incapable of doing the job (that he has been doing very well) because he is old and has a stutter.

Judging by Biden's performance and decisions, there is no justification for what you are saying about Biden. I especially like how he has stayed out of the spotlight and let his appointees lead. What a refreshing change from the former guy.

I'm all for a competitive primary and hope for those people and others to compete for the nomination.

I'd like to see Elizabeth Warren on that list too. And Biden. And Harris. For the sake of diversity, how about putting Manchin on the list to represent right-leaning moderates?
It doesn't matter, in the Trump days, it felt like every news bulletin left me exasperated... Now you barely hear about the USA... which is awesome from a PR point...

as an old person I'm taken back by your age discrimination...We have a qualified VP if something were to happen to Joe....Change the oil and run it back, Joe's a winner

Hold on there. It's not age discrimination. I'm sorry you feel that way. That wasn't my intention. I just think think there is a better path/future for the Democratic party. I'm also not a fan of Harris and apparently neither is Biden which is why they've muzzled her.

I remember years ago when a person could discuss politics and even when people disagreed they all still had a beer together. Things seem so toxic today. Just look at how some react to my wanting a candidate other than Biden. Forget the fact that I voted for him. Three times actually if you add in the Obama years but now since I would like to see a different candidate I'm ostracized.

I get what you're saying about the age thing and I probably did make too much of that. But I don't think Biden is the best choice for 2024. He was for 2020 which is why I voted for him in the Primary and the general election but like many we thought it was always just going to be one term because Biden was best poised to defeat trump which was the number one mission that needed to be accomplished. I don't think trump will be the Republican nominee in 2024 and things could work out in reverse. Don't underestimate someone like DeSantis beating Biden or even a second run by Jeb Bush.

For the record, I didn't label you a DINO. I simply said we have different thresholds for drawing the conclusion that Biden is too old to be prez.

For you, it would seem that a number is all you need. What's your cut off? 70? 60?

Regarding your reference to Reagan, he didn't do anything while he still had the few brain cells he was born with so it was possible for his inner circle to hide his condition. One of his sons believes he saw his father in cognitive decline in during a debate with Mondale in 1984. Reagan was 74 at the time. He was officially diagnosed with the disease ten years later. Evidence of cognitive decline is my standard, not a simple number. I don't see it in Biden right now.

In any case, it's not up to you whether Biden runs or not. Use any criteria you like to decide how you feel about Biden. From what I've seen in your posts, you are not basing your opinion on objective facts but on some sort of age based risk analysis. Some people base their beliefs on what Trump says or what they read in the Bible. There are plenty of ways to make a decision. I prefer using objective facts but will go with my gut or your kind or risk analysis when I must. In this case, there is no need to be hasty. There are still 2 1/2 years before I need to make that decision.

I voted for Elizabeth Warren in the primary and the best alternative to Trump in the general election. I have had no regrets.

Hannity: Trump felony charge ‘not a disqualification’ from seeking presidency
Fox News host Sean Hannity said during his radio show Monday that if former President Trump is indicted on any felony charge it would not disqualify him from seeking the presidency again in 2024.

“If they think that they’re going to somehow make this about Donald Trump and prevent him from running from office, well they obviously have not read something called the Constitution. Because the Constitution is pretty clear on what qualifies one to be able to run for president,” Hannity said on his radio program.

“Even if Section 2071 in the federal penal code has penalty provisions upon the conviction that a defendant shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.”

The qualifications for being president, Hannity argued, can’t be altered “by any statute precisely because our framers in their wisdom didn’t want the executive branch dominated by the legislature, as would happen if Congress could disqualify any incumbent or potential president simply by passing a law.”

“And the Constitution’s qualifications are simple, you got to be over 35 and a natural born citizen. Being a felon is not a disqualification,” the host continued. “So even crimes potentially far more serious than what is being alleged, potential mishandling of classified information, doesn’t stop somebody from seeking the presidency.”

Hannity, a close personal friend of the former president for years, has defended Trump on his prime-time Fox News show “Hannity” this past week.

The comments from Hannity come after the FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s South Florida estate. The search was carried out in connection with an investigation into classified information reportedly taken from the White House.

“If you are associated with Donald Trump in any way, you better cross all your i’s and dot all your t’s,” Hannity said on his show hours after the search was conducted. “Because they are coming for you with the full force of the federal government.”

Hannity was one of several Fox hosts who the select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol found was texting with former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows during the rioting pleading with him to get Trump to call off the rioters.

Last week’s search at Mar-a-Lago was executed in connection with a warrant that lists three potential criminal violations that investigators suspected they would find evidence of in the search: concealment or removal of federal records, destruction or alteration of records in a federal investigation and transmitting defense information.

Neither the Justice Department nor FBI have explicitly said whether Trump is the focus of a criminal investigation.

“Now what does disqualify them that is also enumerated in the Constitution,” Hannity said. “They do provide a basis for doing that. And that is the conviction by the U.S. Senate on the — on an impeachment article voted on by the House. Again, that’s prescribed by the Constitution. You can’t change that by a mere statute. So I’m not sure exactly where they’re headed with all of this.”

job one is to take the money out of it. Fine Fix News etc. til they bleed backwards, and tax the churches in proportion to their political donations. Lotta pastors out there who are exposed to racketeering law.

Who would you prefer? Manchin or Liz Cheney?

Liz Cheney. Career voting record on crucial progressive issues: 3.5%

Manchin. Career voting record on crucial progressive issues: 63%

Cheney only looks good now because she's one of the few Republicans who still support Democracy. She hasn't changed her positions on the environment, education, civil rights, fair housing, labor rights or fair taxation. Her record on these issues is mostly against progress.
