Light toxicity

Damn i keep underestimating the stretch with this plant, and it’s too tall. Top buds are 16 inches from my light, which is about as high as I can get it in my tent. My flux meter is reading 1200-1500 at the top buds and some are already showing light burn and it’s only early flower. Damn! I have a dimmer and I guess that’s what I have to do but any other suggestions?

your still pretty early in flower too, I'd be supercropping and putting up a net if you want to keep them in line.

It'll feel like death at first, but they are surprisingly resilient, and if you don't net them they will be upright again in no time. Just roll them a while in your fingers so they soften up and fold, not snap lol.

Supercropping is used with branches too tall. Lots of threads here

You are burning the leaves at that output. It may not show fully yet but will...dim the lights.

Dont stress about the light levels. Its way easier to burn the tops than to under light them where it badly affects your result.

50k lux is enough without CO2. 75k is generally the top level you want without CO2 and that imo is a bit high unless you have it dialed with the right strains and good distance to the lights. That is roughly 750 to 1100umols (depends upon lights and spectrum). You are currently at the max umols for those using CO2 and high temps.

have you mounted the light directly to the frame (install a little fan for airflow)? I gained like 8-10 cm at one stage doing that. Had a blackberry gum which was around 10" from the light and at 1200umol/s and only option was tying the light directly to the frame.

Edit. Just read you can dim. Id dim a bit for the time being, but supercropping will help even out the canopy and lead to better penetration.

First of all, that's not a flux meter, nor a lux meter

It's a PAR meter

1200-1500 ppfd is too high without CO2 supplementation

~1000 ppfd is generally considered the max light intensity without the addition of CO2

Hey where'd you get the white pvc cross bar to keep your tent from sucking-in? The one you've got a fan mounted on.

I got that fan too bro, it kinda sucks but it doesn't? Its maneuverability is pretty shit. Other than that tho.

More than likely just a T and pole out of PVC, if you slide the T on between the top and bottom halves of the tent at the joints you choose.
