This point, that point...................he will walk like he's walked every time so far.

First time - OMG we impeached him. He's going down!! - nothing
Second time - OMG we impeached him again!! He's going down!! - nothing
Third and fourth and fifth times - He's going down this time!! - nothing

Just in case YOU weren't following close enough
You may be right. I hope not because if you are, it’s a very sad thing for your Country.

I think you’re wrong, though. The impeachment trials were political, this time it’s criminal and it looks like the DOJ has the goods on the orange bastard.

We’ll see.

I hope I'm wrong too but I'm sick and tired of seeing people get worked up and excited about fucking trump over only to be let down over and over. It's why I wait patiently and don't get excited because the fucker wins again and again.

The DoJ and Trump's lawyers are to get togethe

The point is to not have him win another election, just in case you are not following close enough.
indeed, i could care less if trump ever sees the inside of a cell. i want EVERYONE else involved crucified to the nearest tree, upside down...every fucking republican from the senate all the way down to the lowest state official who enabled, assisted, aided, and abetted trump's fucking insurrection...every one of them, indicted, tried, and sentenced to the harshest sentences possible, with no fucking parole. gut the fucking republican fascist movement in one summer of joyful prosecution...

If ALL they find is what we know right now, I think you are right. I think the first priority was to get those records back and that (maybe) was accomplished with the search in early August. What happens after that is all just a guess on our part. But I agree with you. If the only crime they can pin on Trump is he had documents and didn't hand them all over when asked, they aren't even going to indict. It might turn out they haven't found all of the documents yet. That might be interesting if so. However, even an obstruction charge and conviction isn't in the offing unless more is learned and crystal clear evidence of worse crimes are found. Obstruction would be included in any indictment, which should not be hard to prove and carries a satisfying sentence. However, he won't be charged on that alone.

DOJ has to finish its investigation and they have been playing hard ball with Trump. No patience whatsoever with his attempts at obstruction. I'm loving the look they are giving Trump right now. I'm glad and satisfied that the documents are now safe from that man. I'm concerned about the 43 empty folders marked classified and if any damage to national security was done when the documents in those folders landed in the hands of people who are hostile to the US.

I'll wait. I want this done right more than I want it done quickly.

But yet you do. If your not going to actually arrest him and gaol him then it's all just hot air that gives him exposure. Proving the big lie.
Its amazing that trump has proven over and over again that old white money and power means laws do not exist for them.

No, in Russia he would of fallen out of a window.
We have processes that make our society function even if they do not function in a way it should. The reason Trump has not been held accountable is due to Republicans seeing short term gain over damage done to the US in the long term. He should have been held accountable with the first impeachment but Republicans told themselves, "He learned his lesson." Obviously Trump is not the type to question his view of the world.

I could just turn off the news and have a much better life. But I feel that is irresponsible, if everyone buried their head in the sand we would be in a sorry state, don't you agree?

The most troubling aspect is the 40+ empty classified folders they found in Trump's office.

It would be amazing if Trump didn't sell them to the highest bidder
My guess of those empty folders is that Trump was burning every bit of evidence of his crimes as he could smuggle down to his golf motel, there was something about him trying to get all his minions he made ”acting” to gather up all the evidence from the Russian investigation into him.

It would also make sense on how far that would screw up current cases into him.

Trump 'Stole' Top Secret Material, And Special Master Ruling Won't Save Him, Says SCOTUS Lawyer
62,580 views Sep 5, 2022 A judge grants Trump’s request for a special master to review documents seized by federal agents from Mar-A-Lago. Former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal tells MSNBC’s Ari Melber it is a “real mistake” and believes the “Justice Department has to appeal.” Katyal also invoked Former Attorney General Bill Barr, agreeing with his take that Trump’s request for a special master was “a crock of (expletive).”

It is also likely that the contents were lifted by a thief. Security was not up to snuff for world class spy rings. I'm wondering if the DOJ is out there beating the bushes, interrogating, searching and actively looking for those loose documents. Such as that search of the Russian oligarch's rooms in NY where they didn't just take files, they took entire safes.

Or maybe they are mixed in with the other stuff in the boxes. No way for us to know.
