Hydrogen Peroxide for Aphids

Just use White Oil diluted with water. Spray all over including the buds m under the leaves. 24 hour withholding period. The WO literally melts aphids. I got one of my plants out of the tent early so the damn things didn't get on the other two plants. Looked at the desd aphids under a microscope. They look like Russian tanks hit by a UKR Javelin. All melted n twisted. I was impressed. No sign of life on that plant.

I didn’t know what white oil was so I looked it up and I was wondering how you mix yours? And does it burn pistils or damage trichomes? And how much white oil would you put in two litres of water? And do you use distilled or normal tap water? Sorry for all the questions. Lol

Full dilution instructions are on the bottle. The other alternative is Neem Oil. But I had WO left from my last lot of aphids in my vegie garden. Neem Oil is safe to use. Hydrogen Peroxide may burn the plants.

Neem is not for flowering. Definitely not for late flowering.

White oil is basically mineral oil, right? I wouldn't be spraying oils on my flowers.

OP, are you sure it's aphids that are causing so much damage? Take a close up pic of the buds. Have you been checking for worms?

I have found aphids and ants for sure. But now I’m scared to go look for worms. The buds on the other plants I threw away got very loose and dry so I’m worried now. What Could I do if it is worms? And what am I looking for and where on the plant are they?

Oh, I have no doubt there's aphids on there. But the damage sounds pretty severe for aphids. If you had a massive aphid outbreak you would see tons of aphids clusters on the bottoms of the leaves, sticky shiny residue all over (not THC trichomes), and you'd probably see clusters of the winged ones all over the stems.

When you say the buds got loose and dry, I'm thinking it's bud rot caused by worms. "bud worms"

Worms are these tiny little caterpillar fuckers. I most often find them in the early mornings on the actual bud. They tend to hide out in the daylight. They eat their way to the center of the bud and shit and eat in there. You won't really know it's in there until it's too late and you see a rot spot. You can usually see the dead sugar leaves, or dead/rotten buds, break it off and find worm and/or worm shit.

Monteray BT or Spinosad is some of the best stuff for worm battles. Pick off moth eggs too.

The oil used in White Oil is the same light paraffin oil used on foodstuffs such as apples. The withholding period is 24 hours and can be used on vegies etc. The plant that got the aphids on it was runt seed whose origin I can't recall. It really was a runt! I was lucky to get it out of the grow room before the aphids got onto my other two good plants that are near to harvest. I check my plants twice a day. You could use Neem Oil instead n most growers use it, so I'm told.

Good grief. Do not use White Oil on plants that far into flower. That's crazy. White oil is just another name for mineral oil and is a byproduct of crude oil refining process. It is used as an insecticide on plants but not something like cannabis where you will be smoking the product. You can wash an apple off under the sink. That oil is going to stay on the buds. Just rinse the aphids off with plain water. It's that simple.

There’s not really damage on the leaves like bite marks or holes. And I looked inside the loose bud and didn’t see anything. I don’t have a close up camera like that and I dropped my loope and broke it yesterday.

Do not listen to the guy telling you to spray your buds with Neem Oil or White Oil. Just use a spray nozzle on your garden hose and spray them off.
Water won't shift aphids. They get the sucker in the leaf tissue n its like an anchor. They'll be there in bigger numbers in the morning. But good luck anyway.

You don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. You're recommending using mineral or neem oil. That pretty much says it all.

Aphids spray off with a stream of water and are easily controlled and eliminated. If you want to spray a by-product of refining crude oil into gasoline that's your business. Please don't recommend others do it as well when they're this far into flower.

I disagree. I've seen the damage they can do, decimating plants, and they are not always in clusters with shiny residue everywhere by the time you notice. I've successfully dealt with them and other times failed. YMMV

I’ve been dealing with them using hydrogen peroxide and I got rid of the ants and the numbers are way down. I also do rosemary oil. My buds are starting to fatten up and the plants are looking way healthier over all. Next year I will for sure take more preventative measures to deal with them before the come.
Thanks for all the help and advice guys.

Yay, good to hear! Sounds like you have a plan. Look-up their life cycle; knowing how they reproduce goes a long way towards understanding how to deal with them. Damn things are pregnant when they are born. Who would have thought? As long as you are careful with your H2O2 dilution, you won't hurt your plants. And there is always just plain water. Good luck.

I had a professor that was a horticulturist and I saw him adding H2O2 to his water for the soil. He also kept spray bottles around with very dilute solutions of it. When I asked him why he used it, he smiled, patted me on the head and sent me to the library.
