... insight is welcome if I can do anything to benefit my girls lmk, Thanks guys ...
Your screens look pretty filled - like a good SCROG should.

The Sept 12th post was 1 week in flower ... so you are now early into Week 3 and are starting to see white hairy clusters up the wazoo?

10-4 I'm at 15 days in flower on the white pistils lol I dropped the cypress to about 10" from the canopy waiting to see how they like it

The Cypress 3 - you should be OK at 10". You can run them pretty close to the canopy. See if her appetite increases with that hanging height. My VL's did really well at 18" above running nearly full bore. But I found that they did require a good steady feed from late VEG through to chop.

So your stretch is done and the white hairs are just starting to poke out now?

Looks good, I have a cypress 3 at 4000K for my 4x4 veg tent, sometimes I wish I had it at 3500K cause I know it would pack my 2x4 full of buds.
Yes sir, I had grab the 3500 I knew I would eventually flower with her lol I’m hoping to have her at 6” above the canopy before I cut them down, how is yours treating you ?

I guess it's a little late now - but I would have recommended going with a 3000K rig if you were going to use it for dedicated flowering. I can attest that the lower colour temp light will fill that 2 x 4 with fat colas.

It works great as a veg light, fills the 4x4 full of light, node spacing is tight, I love it.

No I won’t ever flower with it, it was always intended to veg only, but I may get one at 3500 so I can either veg a 4x4 or flower a 2x4 if I want.

I have the cypress 6 at 3500k, and that handles a 4x4 well, no complaints about my buds.View attachment 5201233
Nice frosty bud from that Cypress! (What strain?)
I spoke with Dan about the Cypress vs HLG 650R vs Timber Fatty configured with 5, 1750K cobs. Ultimately, I got the Fatty and it's been great. However, in hindsight, I wish that I had grabbed a Cypress too. The reason I didn't was that I wasn't completely sold on the ability of strip LED's to penetrate the canopy. Also, Timber had just released the Cypress series and there wasn't much information on them yet. It just goes to show what we all know. Timber makes excellent, effective products with quality components for a fair price.
Hopefully, Timber will be back on-line soon and RainDan will return with even more ideas for moving cultivation lighting forward.

4VS and Redwood
My fellow Timberites,
I'm selling two low mileage fixtures:
The first is a 4VS set-up with 2-1750k and 2-4k cobs. I've used it for 1 grow and also for vegging.
The other is a Redwood with
2-1750, 2-3k and 2-4k cobs.
I did 1 grow with this one and some supplemental light for another.
Both are in great shape and produce excellent results. As I have a Magnolia and a Fatty I no longer need these two. Both lights were purchased in approximately the last 18 months.
Please PM me if interested.
Thank you,
RW

just received an email from buildAsoil...

Timber has rebranded as Highgrove Lighting. Same company, same people - we have changed the design of the lights to better serve the needs of our customers with respect to output, coverage area, options, and manufacturability.
We no longer offer the Redwood COB nor Cypress bar lights due to the inability to reliably source the components necessary to build those models. We are re-introducing the Magnolia family with a host of changes including a larger design, bigger LED boards, and waterproof operation to mention a few.
Have you been waiting?? Timber has now come back as HIGHGROVE! Same Great Build Quality Now In Stock and Ready To ship. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to support@BuildASoil.com

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm glad Dan/Timber have found a new business model. Partnering with build a soil should elevate the lights profile.
That being said, I'm feeling like a guinea pig in regard to the 1st generation Magnolia. That light had some short comings that have been addressed in the new Magnolias. Early this year Timber built 50 of the the first generation Magnolias. Many of us bought that light based on Timbers reputation. I feel like that light was an experiment. Some things worked well others, not so much. That light runs hot, does not have waterproofing and the boards are different. More powerful and increased spectrum bandwidth.
I'm feeling a bit duped and I'm hoping Timber steps up and makes things right for the people that invested in what should have been a fully vetted light before releasing it on a wide scale. Feels like I bought an inferior product compared to the new one.

I was looking at hard at Timber for my first light as they're somewhat local, but the disappearing act on their site and then only retailing through one vendor (one that - to my knowledge - isn't known for lights) has me looking elsewhere.

They’ve always sold through build-a-soil, even before the rebrand, im sure they will launch their own site before too long. As for the technical differences, I noticed that too, and while I’m sure the OG magnolia 4 is a great light, I couldn’t help but be relieved that I didn’t end up getting one before they shut down :(. And I just don’t know, I’d have to look at more than just the picture of the 6 board fixture, but from the picture the way the boards are oriented looks like the light spread wouldn’t quite be as efficient as an HLG scorpion setup.
Timber format: = = =
HLG format: ll ll ll
I’m no expert at all though, and I know Dan is, and I’m sure it covers the footprint nicely.
