I looked up that richgro black marvel compost, it's not bad but I wouldn't grow just straight in that. I personally wouldn't use it bc I don't know enough about what else it needs. I started with fox farm bc it was easy. I started a compost pile too and am wanting to move towards living soil eventually. That's kinda what you've got, it's a compost. You shouldn't have to add nutrients, if I understand it correctly. In the least I would've added some perlite to it. I add more perlite to the ff soil and it already has a bunch. Roots need oxygen, that's why over watering hurts them. The fabric pots are great for that. They do look healthy, maybe a little hungry.
