Biden Decriminalizes Cannabis

He has done two incomparable things:

1) stopped the criminal dismantling of the Social Security system

2) stopped the emplacement of fascist judges throughout the courts.

Compare and contrast with Repugs.
He's also a huge supporter of Unions. He is the first sitting president to speak at an IBEW convention has an IBEW card carrying member in his cabinet.

As for building back better, ask the republican senators and Manchin why nothing has been done...

Biden respects the power of the executive order, which is a breath of fresh air.

I totally respect you brother, but I don't see any beef in that patty of salmon.

Not belittling... It's just that I think he could have done more in the past couple of years. Backing out on student load debt is a kick in the nuts from a promise to a redaction. It's stuff like that which makes me wonder if he's really for the people. Now all of the sudden to redact anyone under the FEEL program... and now they are excluded. Promise and exclusion after the fact is suspicious. This is going to turn into a lawsuit from people who have already paid their debt.
piddling things compared to rescuing Social Security. I do not know why you dismiss that. Explain that.

As for student loan debt, it is unique in its being exempt from usury laws. How emancipating it’s hostages is a bad thing, I would need explained.

Finally, one cannot redact a person, only a document.

I am ambivalent about unions. The cop union is the shield (!) behind which a lot of justice fails to reach.

You can't redact a statement?... or promise? Sure you can.

1. I don't need SS. I've planned ahead. So I don't give a fuck if it's around in the next 8 years or not. Do I want my money?.. sure. But, Im not counting on it. 2. You should be smart enough to invest in trends. Like the beginning of Covid.. Moderna, Netflix, Carvana, Halliburton, Devon Energy... those were smarter moves than SS, and a better return.

So you would be OK with Social Security Disability being simply stopped. That’s almost nine million recipients cast onto the streets.

Tell me how to plan such that a career-ending surprise event doesn’t cast someone onto the streets. Be specific.

Because they are dumb.. or poorly unavailable to the market. This is how they are going to see who is a player, and who is not. It's all about the money. They don't give a shit about the poor. They want players in the market.

Labor Unions and police unions are wholly different.

My grandfather was in the service union, my first haircut was from a union barber, I myself am in the process of becoming a union electrician.

I will admit I am biased, but that doesn't make me blind either.

You ever seen a homeless Veteran? They need to shift funding. I hate seeing our Vets homeless. But what makes me even sicker is seeing home bound "PS5" player couch potatoes sucking the system dry while we see our own Vets struggling on the streets. Makes me sick.

I know we're talking about decriminalization from a Schedule 1.... but this is nothing but a vote grab attempt. Even tho I support it, he's grasping at straws. What has he "built back better"? If anything.
Biden did something you and most Americans support but it’s nothing but a vote grab? Tough crowd.

You’ve been given many examples of things Biden has accomplished but you refuse to accept or acknowledge them. Since this information goes in one ear, swirls around that empty vortex where your brain should be and out the other ear, that’s on you, not anyone else.

You must have been really pissed when your guy gave tax breaks to the uber rich.

Giving people student loan forgiveness makes you question if Biden is for the people?

You aren’t very bright, are you?

If anything.. it's been built back worse. I do hope that those 6500ish non violent cannabis offenders do get released, and can get back to normal lives and contribute to society... you ever see "Locked up Abroad"... those people got thier shit together after spending months, or years behind bars in another Country, and made influential businesses based on thier experience to help others.
Too funny. Changing a ridiculous system for the better is a "vote grab". I fucking hope so. Do it more. Do it with voting rights, healthcare, and education as well. Grab those votes like TFG grabs pussy.

I see you danced away from the issue again.

Tell me why you begrudge somebody whose career was ended early by an unplanned disability whose outcome is unemployability, and whose only recourse is SSDI, enough money to survive at a seriously diminished level.
Be specific.

Stop diverting to retirement or homeless vets or some libertarian hatefantasy of plucky self-reliance undone by the phantom indolent, none of which bear on this central issue.

As a current member of two unions, and having been elected to several union board positions previously, I can understand your ambivalence. Frankly there are both good and bad elements to unions. Personally I think the positive outweighs the negative, and I keep active in my unions in effort to keep them focused in a positive direction. The big issue I have with Unions is that they can (and sometimes do) negotiate your rights away.

I admit ignorance. From my limited experience, labor unions and advocacy unions exist on a sliding scale. How do I tell the difference?
