My seedling is still inside and soon my Gorilla Glue #4; who I’ve named Sigourney (played Dian Fossey in Gorillas in the Mist) will be ready for her “forever” home. It’s a 15 gallon grow bag. Being outdoors I don’t want a SCROG but do want something to support branches and do LST with. I found this cutoff on my morning walk and thought it would be perfect. The bag is on a dolly so I can move her around the balcony and chase the sun so any sort of cage won’t work. My newbie question is, will this baby arm width branch be an issue in any way?

Square tomato cages work really well. Look at retired engineer's grow journal and you can see how he uses them to train and secure his plants. Here's a link to his journal.

I wouldn't want that much weight in the pot personally and I have no idea what could result from it being organic.

Tie two pieces of rope / string together in the middle. Place the pot on top. Tie a loop in each end so the ends reach like half way up the sides of your pot. Take a third string and loop it around your pot, through the loops you made and tie it. Now you have something to anchor your lst strings to.

You can't not do it now, right? Tripod support, how could you grow wrong? You could even spiral the plant stalk\branches around it as it grows for fun.

Preparing logs for aquariums seems like the proper avenue to check out. If its safe species of tree, and prepared correctly for an aquatic habitat, you should be good? I know they soak them, and leach out as many tannins or whatever it called as they can.. Vinegar test for rocks..san't remember about using wood though, the specific test.

You could always coat it with epoxy to be on the safe side.

They are super nice cages. I’d absolutely prefer to go that way. Thanks

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. It started as a cool looking prop but then the possibilities came flooding in.

I ended up doing 3 15 gallon bags with proper trellis…and I’m glad I did. So helpful having the 4 sided trellises for training.
