Hi , how do you guys select your mothers. I’m curious cuz of my spare room. There are multiple way for my understanding now, I could take a clone of every seeds I pop , wait till I tested every finished product and then decide wich clone to keep. I could simply reveg my favorite plant After harvest or do a monster crop to save atleast a couple weeks of space but continue as mentioned b4.

i plan to pop 4 seeds at a time on search but got only like 1sqm for my mommy so I better plan twice x) thx for help

If space is limited I'd take a couple of clones per seed. Keep those clones under low level blueish light in small pots.
So they stay small and stacked limiting room needed, you can literally stick 4 propagators with a 20w cfl on top of your tent, or in any nuck n cranny you can find.
Then select after flowering the originals.

Try searching for bonsai mothers on the search bar.

Take a couple slightly long cuttings of each plant, put them in sandwich bags & keep them in the vegetable drawer in your refrigerator. Label the bags. Keep the cuts dry & get all the air out of the bags but don't smoosh the cuts, and just store em in the bag until needed, they can keep for upwards of 8 weeks maybe longer. By the time your plants are in week 6 or 7 flower, you should have a solid idea which one to keep, then, root those cuttings

Thanks for the education !

1st rule of pheno hunting is to take a cut of everything you grow. If for some reason you don't have a cutting, you can always try revegging the plant, if it's a keeper, but sometimes that doesn't work (for any number of reasons.) Just start popping seeds and keep the clone that corresponds to the best bud that you end up with(compost the rest). Then pop more seeds and do it again. Once you have the max # of mommies you want to keep, then start replacing them as you pop more seeds and find something better than the plants you've kept. Keep doing that and you'll have a nice collection in a couple of years.

^^ this because I can almost promise that one plant you didn't clone will be your jackpot.

Another option, and the one I use, is to sequentially clone and not keep mothers.
