I thought this was America?

When and if I do watch the national news I watch cbs. And even they are biased. But they seem to me as the least biased. When I want to know about an issue I get on the internet and do my own research and read both sides of an issue and form my own opinion. I mainly watch local news only. For me I do not need someone telling me their opinion on an issue instead of just giving me the facts and letting me form my own opinion. I also do not like all the division that is promoted by the right or the left. Until we all come together as Americans and work towards the common good we will never fix our problems. But if we did come together as a nation we would not need all the politicians that are bought and payed for by special interest. And I mean politicians on both sides of the political spectrum.
We have some common goals. It seems everyone distrusts politicians and now judges. Why don't we elect reformers? We can demand not just ethics for SCOTUS but routine oversight, reporting, and term limits for them. They need to be brought down to earth where the rest of us live.

What is your opinion of Citizens United?

I am not well versed on what their political beliefs are. But I did a quick Google search and found their mission statement to be in line with my beliefs. I do remember the court case with the fcc. And I do not believe that special interest groups should be able to buy our political system. But I will do more research on the group and form a better more informed opinion. But thanks for giving me something to think about and something to research.

They operate the “limited government” con.

I take it that you believe in more government?
Let’s say I believe in the need for a central regulatory culture that’ll work against the evils of those who call themselves libertarian.

Small government
States’ rights
Unregulated corporations

are the unholy trinity of protofascism wearing a libertarian ghillie suit, and ever since the trickle-down scam we have seen how badly that works for the rest of us. The GOP is the tool of CEOs, today’s plantation owner class with all that entails. I’d get behind an Eisenhower but not a Reagan.

You said a mouthful without really answering my question. Seems to me all that you are good at is bashing Republicans. The sad thing to me is that you seem highly educated but have fallen into the trap that so many other millions have, that my political party is right and you have no right to exist if you do not agree with me.

Now I think that you are doing that. I was once Republican myself, until stupid tax policy and deregulation and Pat Robertson.

So no; I don’t have it in for Republicans - just what they have become. Like I said, I can get behind an Eisenhower, who had sound tax policy, knew how dangerous appeasing corporations was, and didn’t give dominionists the time of day.

Today’s crop of election deniers are a clear and present danger to a republic by, for and of the people. Consider their violent rejection of critical race theory, a fact of American life that bears directly on your other thread.

First you posted "... they don't matter because they vote Republican..." and now "...you have no right to exist if you do not agree with me."

That's a terrible perspective. You are doing this to yourself IMO.

Sigh...looks like another big ass rate hike. It's frustrating and stupid, it's blowing up a house to get rid of termites. I guess all eyes are on the press conference afterwards to see about guidance for next year.

It's just a stupid approach to the issue. Crushing the middle class to where they are broke so that the wealthy can't keep charging higher prices isn't great. Yep...consumers continue to spend outrageous amounts because the price of necessities went up...we don't have an option. That sure doesn't mean the economy is awesome and needs slowing.

I will point out that many that complaining about taxes or anything that may harm a corporations profits...while also complaining that they are charging so much (inflation!) and hitting record profit levels seems weird. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Free markets don't always benefit the consumer.

I posted those comments because that's the type of rhetoric I have heard on this site. As for me I do not identify as Republican or Democrat. But if offended anyone I apologize.

Funny how you guys conveniently forget about Hillary after 2016,

You're talking about election deniers. Did you forget about Hillary. She said the election was stolen in 2016. That's pretty hippo critical.
She may have a point. Remember what drove the first impeachment of that man.

This is only a fair comparison if there’s evidence Hillary Clinton lead an insurrection, committed obstruction and milked her followers for money over it.

How much did you donate to the stop the steal campaign, btw? I hope you put your money where your mouth is and donated your life’s savings to the orange buffoon.

I think the point here is lying about a stolen election. Seems the warrior forgot that itty bitty detail.

I don't feel offended. I bet it does feel that way when you're outnumbered in here. I can assure though that everyone here wants every vote to matter and want opportunities spread more equitably and fairly.
