Grams/Watt Calculation

I average 1.3g per watt if I manage my space well. Use a 240w quantum board and in a 3x3 or 2x4 I pretty much get the same yield. Around 320-360g per run. I've seen lifting companies quote "2-2.5g per watt" but I've never seen anyone get close. Tbh, best I have done so far was 1.55g per watt.

The last one was a bit off as I only ran one auto in the 3x3 with the same board, so a lot of space was unused. Making sure you fill your canopy when going g per watt..

I got 1.5g on aliexpress fake spider 60w.and i saw some grow diaries with attiis zeus 600w with 2g/w.you can do it just have to be anal with VPD.dude had 600w of humidifier dehummidifer fans....

15cm clones vegged for 2 weeks and sent into flower.
840 grams with 660w LEDs in 77 days total, roughly 1.25g/w.
I was happy :hump:

you need a wall meter. they don't all pull at the advertised rate...even if you are talking about power rather than diode/bulb capacity. for example the ACI s33 is sold as a 240w light. it runs at 270w. that is a big difference if you are running two of them. There is wall power draw which is used for this metric, but there is also the power than is delivered on to the bulbs. it is not the same, but will be within about 10% of each other.

true but still in the end lamp is the one that gives energy to the plant. and you cant create more energy than you recive. soo most people will look at it as lamp potential...

and yea splinter you are right no idea what true wattage that was... i can say i had a "quality lamp" they saved all the money with skipping safety. you could get electricuted just by touching it and if you plug it in wrong way it would give off a little bit of light.bad for flower

A long low watt veg can consume the same electricity as a short veg with a high powered light, or more.. So no

Root and plant mass have more of an effect on harvest weight than you suggest. Its not hard to place a low wattage led close to a long vegged plant get a good gram per watt number. In the end it is the same result as someone doing a short veg with a high wattage grow.
Energy consumption wise

grams per watt per meter is probably the most pure metric. i keep that in my grow spreadsheet. yep, i keep super complicated spreadsheet that tracks cost, wattage, lighting and yields.

though, the most limiting factor for most spaces is welll...space/area. ligthts are cheap almost always make for a good investment up to hte max photons needed, and so long as you have about the max lighting then grams per area will be most meaningful for most people. grams per watt has a lot of variables...if you don't use your grow area efficiently you won't score high on grams per area, but you may score high on grams per watt. adding a time component can also be meaning full so grams per m2 per year or grams per watt-m2 per year. see how many grams a day you get. if that is good, then fine. if you need more get more lights then change up the other grow vairables. i did 50g per sqft or nearly 500 per m2. grams per watt was about 0.9, so not that great, but i only have less than an m2 to produce a few lb a year.

Energy consumption wise

yes my dude. maximize ratio of roots volume/floor area to canopy area. that solves filling a space quickly. it also solves the issue of low ceiling tents. it also give you more roots in your grow. but, since i don't clone it costs more in seeds.
